Yeah man I want to black chrome, powder coat or polish my blower but I'm not sure how long either would last. Also, I see everyone is porting their blowers. What's the benefit to this process?

If you have someone competent, the powdercoating should last indefinitely.
Porting allows greater air-flow and in theory, more HP.

Competent means they take it apart? I know they can take heat but if they bake it in the an oven will the internals damage because its past a certain degree? I have had black power coated paid $150 and then bought a ported blower and painted it myself for $20. I wet sanded it, then used high glass high heat temperature rust proof paint. Looks the same. Depends who parts and some people are known for fraud and lie.

Tell you what if you powder coat plan on a rebuild of the case period.
Thinking other words is dumb.
