Intercity lines, and I just had awesome service with Reliable carriers from MN to GA with a trilogy marauder. Not inexpensive but service was enclosed and delivered in 2 days to Mos speed shop . Carrier called 24 hours before to make all arrangements etc. they do say 2 - 4 week window on there quotes but mine was picked up in two days of notice and delivered 2 days later . I believe intercity lines is based out of eastern NY so it might be a good lane for them . Both places have online quote availability

Reliable was no joke - I may start using them for my personal needs.

I'm home from work now, easier to post.
Here are some links

www.reliablecarriers.com (http://www.reliablecarriers.com) - was great for me, not cheap but not the highest either for my transport..MN to GA

www.intercitylines.com (http://www.intercitylines.com) - declined to quote saying MN, to GA not a regualr lane for them..Based out of Mass..might be a good transport lane for you

www.passporttransport.com (http://www.passporttransport.com) - was $300 higher than Reliable carriers.

all 3 of these carrriers are mostly exclusive enclosed, not open, enclosed costs some more, than open trailer. They all serve the auctions..mecum, barret jackson, REM, the high end car shows, amelia island, pebble beach ..etc.. They handle cars worth millions at times, but also down to muscle cars, etc..like you bought. Try their quotes online and go from there .

I would estimate around a $1 per mile for enclosed transport. give or take a little...If you are looking for $700 ish..You wont find it from these carriers..but service and care is top notch..might be cheaper if time permits to fly up and drive it back.. Open transport carriers should be cheaper, but not familiar with any on the east coast.

Exactly what Mark is saying. Also consider that fuel prices have been rising and that impacts carrier costs too.

And, it may be stating the obvious but the cheapest carrier is not always the best.

If you want a bargain, use McNutt but be prepared to get jerked around.

uship is pretty legit as long as you do your research before choosing one of the shippers, thats how i got my "eaton swap" last year :banana2:

Yes, it runs, (1986 Turbo one owner with documentation and service records)just hard to block out the 2-3 days it would take to drive it home.
Reliable was just about the same price so I guess $1400 is legit.
I don't really need enclosed, and I'm in no hurry, I just want it delivered in one piece...

Yes, I understand about time to drive it yourself....That's why I transported mine...plus it was goign to MO's speed shop. Any relatives, or close friends along the way that would allow cheaper transport and then only like a day drive to get it hme? Try the DAS transport quote

Found a shipper I'm comfortable with for $575, that's reasonable to me.
Thanks for all your advice!

This is going to be a track car, I'll post progress reports as I create the money pit...

All good news here and valuable to me at this point since I just bought an '06 Impala SS with 21,000 miles in Tenn that I need to ship to Texas....I plan to do some 'performance' things to the car and use it as a daily driver. I have bought and sold four vehicles on ebay in the last decade and have used different transport carriers for all with no problems...but I am having the devil of a time with the broker person the owner of the Impala rec...has been almost two weeks and I do not have the car yet...something about thousands and thousands of carriers being tied up in the south and Florida due to recent weather related issues and such...
So..I called Reliable saturday and the gal said they would be able to get the car in possibly 3-5 days...but it might be somewhat longer because they were very, very busy at this time...wants me to call back monday and we will look at the situation again.
Not sure about all that busy-ness in the southeast though...anybody heard about that?

It's auction season for one..alot of imports come in this time of year..The Reliable Carrier truck that did my haul was on his way to one of southern ports to pick up a load of porsche cars from Germany
