Think there is a rod knocking way down low. 51000 miles.

Towed it home going check a few things, but it does not look good.

Anyone have a cost estimate for a good rebuild?

If/when we rebuild, what improvements are best for longevity and power?

Ouch!!

Sorry to hear.....

Longevity is typically based on maintainance and driving habits.
I see engineguys do long blocks for about 3k with a 3 year 100,000 mile warranty......

I assume forged goodies inside, but what about price?

Well since your not stock Ford Racing Aluminator stroker setup would be a good replacement: https://www.fordracingparts.com/m/part.asp?p=22907

Forgot one other part to this. I do have a budget. I am a blue collar guy so 650 HP engines and supercar status is not an option. I do want to use quality parts because this has to last.

While it is out not sure about any other mods that are effective and reasonable cost wise. One of the cars I looked at had used the Mustang manifolds instead of the Rauders. Any useful data that show those are worth the effort instead of headers.

Also concerning driving habits. I am 40 and smoky burnouts and high RPMs are not my thing. The last citation I every received I was 19.

 to the Blue Collar guy!..me too..blue collar, so my present revamping of trilogy 48 won't be the "my top end is unlimited" from Crazy Mary Dirty Larry. Sorry to hear about the Marauder. I'm sure there is happy medium somewhere to rebuild it.

I think one of the easiest/cheapest options would be to find a Cobra block and swap it in. It will be a little heavier than the stock block, but has forged internals so should handle stress of mild supercharging for many miles.

Another option would be to replace damaged parts with forged rods/pistons.

Hard to tell cost without dissassembling the engine to see what's wrong. Pretty hard to be specific without knowing more about what happened.

I would recommend a rear cooling mod while things are disassembled.

You might try speaking with one fo the site vendors (like Mo's) for some options, but you will need a clear diagnosis to get a plan and accurate costs.
