I bought the Metco pulley kit. Standard 7.40 lower with a 3.0 upper. The chart says this will produce roughly 15 1bs. of boost.
The same 7.40 lower with a 3.40 upper that is on my Eaton now will produce roughly 11 lbs. of boost, according to the chart.
My question is, can I install the 3.0 upper and tune some of the boost out? My engine is all stock. What is the max boost I should try for and be on the safe side? I like the looks of the 3.0 pulley. The stock one is butt ugly. Is there a kit to enhance the looks of the stock pulley?

The chart is not all that accurate. My old 3.2 w/stock lower was 11.7 on cold to moderate days, around 10.5 on warm days and produced 445/431. The perfect power level for a stock block.
No you can't tune out boost. Stay under 13 to play it safe. The kit to enhance your other pulley is a can of paint LOL

Metcos biggest pulley they sell when I emailed them asking about it is the 3.0. You think I should go with it?
The HP you quote is at the wheels or the crank?

I didn't like Metcos sizes. I ended up ordering a 3.1 billetflow upper and a 2lb lower from LFP.

This should make 12psi.
If you want 10psi, get a stock lower and 3.4 upper.
And no you cant tune boost out.

I know it was a dumb question about tuning out boost.....
Anyway, you think I will be safe with a stock lower and 3.0 upper?

According to the "chart" in the Eaton swap thread, you would be at 16.5 lbs. Are you currently driving with this setup?

Interesting. According to the "chart" you should be at around 18 lbs.

I wouldn't trust those numbers. There are several charts I've seen with different numbers. I would go off of other member's experiences. If you have headers your boost will also be reduced some or so I've read.
I'm not driving it yet. Will be soon. Will take it to the dyno and have him retard it as need be.

I'm afraid to put the 3.0 pulley on. I checked with Billettflow and they go from 3.10 and then jump to 3.40. WTF?
