I contacted Haycock ins. today to get a quote for the MM since my current carrier Safeco will only give blue book in case of a total loss.
Haycock would not write a "stand alone policy".
They would only write a policy for the MM if I was going to insure another classic or collector car along with it and then only as a courtesey.:(
WTF.
Gave Hagerty a call.
Prolly go with them.;)

I have my Marauder on my Hagerty policy with several of the Mustangs.

I have my (2) 1968 Torino GT's , (1) 1968 Mercury Cyclone , (1) 1972 Mustang Mach 1 , My Tools and Garage Automobilia as they call it , all insured with Hagerty. Nationwide covers my 2000 Crown Vic P74 , 1994 EB Bronco and 1994 F-150 Lightning.

Since the Marauder is Not nor will it ever be my daily driver , I contacted Hagerty about picking it up. Sure enough the Marauder meets all the criteria for Hagerty coverage , but with one slight hitch , the person giving me the quote stated that I would have to have a car from 2008 or Newer covered by my present carrier ( Nationwide ) to allow a 2003 vehicle to be covered by Hagerty.

The only thing I can figure is Hagerty is assuming that the newest of the cars will end up being used as the daily driver. I know Nationwide always lists my 2000 Vic is my prime vehicle and the two Ford Trucks as liesure vehicles in much the same manner.

I guess if I wanted to insure the Marauder at a cheaper rate , I'll have to go out and buy something newer and even more expensive to insure. Just doing the math in my head , I think I'll pass on using Hagerty for awhile for the MM.

Maybe when I hit the lottery and can add a 2014 or 15 GT500 Shelby to the collection , Hagerty can pick up the coverage for the MM. :violin:

As previously stated , Most if not all Domestic Carriers will only insure the car for Fair Market Value. I consider my 2003 Marauder with 36k on it to be well above any supposed current Market Value , I just hope and pray that I never have to collect on that policy , I'd be so pissed I couldn't see straight.
