Alright, so I figured out how to use my sct tuner, and I wasn't pleased. When I got the car, the guy I bought it from said the tuner had a custom tune on it, and since the weather has been nice I decided to try it. It was the worst thing I have ever used. It wouldn't stay running unless I held the throttle down, so I returned it to stock. Anyway, is this an I have done something wrong, the guy who made the tune did something wrong, is that what an inexpensive tune does, or what's the deal.
Thanks.

IF YOU LOADED A CUSTOM TUNE AND IT MADE THE CAR RUN POORLY, THEN RETURNED TO THE STOCK TUNE AND IT RUNS WELL = THE CUSTOM TUNE IS NOT CORRECT FOR YOUR CAR. PREVIOUS OWNER MAY HAVE ALTERED THE CAR FROM WHEN THE TUNE WAS MADE???
CONTACT MO'S, GET A PROPER TUNE VIA EMAIL, PUT IT IN YOUR SCT - BE HAPPY.

Well, it's a good chance the way the previous guy had his car set up is different from yours. Custom tunes are created while taking a lot of different factors into account. Just cause it's the same car, same motor (unless he put a different block in it) doesn't mean that a tune for his car will work out the same for your car. The used tuner I bought has a custom tune on it entitled "Blower Tune". Would I install it on my car? No way. The previous guy's car had way more mods and changes that would affect how the tune would be tweaked specifically for his car. Puttin that tune in my car would not bring the same results that he had with his car.

Best bet in your situation? IMHO, contact someone like Martyo from Mo's Speed Shop or Lidio from Alternative Auto and get them to do a mail order tune for you. They're both site vendors here. They'll help you get your car tuned up with a tune that is tweaked based on what you have in the car and how you want it to run for you. I'm currently in the process of doin this very thing, so I'm in the same boat with you.

Anyone more experienced than me, feel free to correct me where I'm wrong and/or shed some more light on the subject. Good luck to you, man!
