Yesterday my 2003 Marauder hit the big 200K!!! I remember when I bought the car 7 years ago, it had 89,000 on it and I always said I hope it last me until 200K and I will be happy. Well, 7 years later it runs as good as the day I bought it. Yes, that is a lot of miles in 7 yrs, but I love my car and drive it every chance I get.
When I purchased the car, I also purchased an extended warranty through the dealer and with that the engine was replaced by FORD at 90k. It had the dreaded engine knock but they replaced it with no questions. I paid the $100 deductible.
I have driven the car like it was stolen since the day I owned it. Was only beat on a highway once (and that was because I didn't have the tune to remove the speed limiter). Also paid my fair share of tickets but enjoyed receiving every single one as a proud Marauder Owner. Most cops were envious...
Over the past 110,000 miles there have been various mechanical issues, but nothing we couldn't work through. Water pumps, power steering pump, catalytic converters, LCM, wipers, etc. However, I have only twice dropped the trans pan and replaced the filter and some fluid. I know that it is horrible to not service the transmission but it has held up like a champ. I have had 24 inch rims for 3 years, doing burnouts, donuts, taken it to the strip, street race, have also had the speedo pegged past 140mph and still pulling.
With that said, this is by far the best/greatest car I have owned. (84 Monte Carlo, 92 Z28 Anniversary Edition, 2000 Interceptor) I would not trade the Marauder for anything. Premium gas has been expensive for 7 years but it is worth every penny to be happy.
Thank you to everyone on this website who has provided wonderful advice and expertise over the years and I look forward to hitting 300,000K now.
