Hi All,

As in the past few years, we have had a great picnic/BBQ on Saturday. It's somewhat of a "potluck" theme, so bring what you like to eat and drink--if you want to bring a little extra to share, great, but NOT necessary.

We'll start with this: Jack and I will have a couple grills for cooking the hot stuff and we already have the supply of paper goods that we'll need (plates, cups, utensils, napkins, paper towels etc.)

So,,, post up what you will bring. If anyone has large coolers they can bring with ice, that will be great for the drinks..

Items being brought according to posts as of June 5th:

1 coleman 2-burner stove
2 cooking grills
Cooking Utensils

Paper goods for 100+ people (plates, utensils, cups, napkins)

60 hamburgers, buns & cheese slices
90 hot dogs & buns
kielbasa w/ rolls
chicken
ketchup, mustard, relish
pickles, olives
baked beans
black bean salad
potato salad
soft pretzels
chips, corn chips
cookies
brownies
salted peanut chews

3 large coolers w/ ice & assorted soft drinks & bottled water
2 gallons Sangria
iced tea
beer -- 3 cases
wine
diet soda -- 1 case
Land Shark Ale

6 canopies
6 tablecloths

How about a 50 foot straw? Wait... aerial spraying of the hill with the Sangria. Just face the nozzle, open your mouth, and get your wine! Who said we need an engineer to solve a problem?

So far, only about 1/4 of the attendees have checked in on the picnic sign-up out of 44 definite YES and Registered members. Still waiting to hear from 15 of the regular suspects on attendance. This might be a record year for MM.Net attendance at the 2014 Carlisle "All Ford Nationals".

Please check the list in Post #1 and bring what you can to contribute to the Saturday picnic. That is the biggest attendance day..... lots of hungry mouths to feed. :)

If I recall there is no power from the event people but if someone has a generator that is reasonably quiet maybe they could bring it along for heating up that sort of stuff.

Should not be a problem. We have had tables delivered early Friday afternoon before. Biggest need for tables is on Saturday to cook, sort and stack the food and drink items. Trophies, raffle items and T-Shirts also needed tables.

Wow eight (8) tables !!! I thought that we usual got by with 4-6 tables before. Hope we get a big tent 20 x 40 this year.

I can cook as well. Based on what I heard via PMs, I'm dropping my offer to bring hot dogs and buns, and bringing three and a half cases of Land Shark Ale (currently sitting on a table in my basement, causing it to bow).

I've got a reasonably good Bluetooth speaker that can pair to a phone playing SiriusXM (the speaker can run off an inverter). If I can find my inverter I'll bring that as well. (I wouldn't recommend using any extension cords with the inverters - the added resistance caused by the extra wire just runs down the battery that feeds the inverter more quickly.)

We can also freak out everybody nearby, by firing up all the speakers that can play SiriusXM and listening to them all slightly out of sync. :banghead:

Every time I have had a Starbucks coffee, I have burned the roof of my mouth. If they sell it cooler, does it cost less? The money I save can be used for the Emergency Room visit.

And then there is the other effect Starbucks has on me. It acts like that glop you drink before a lower GI series.......... plop plop, fizz, fizz!

Just occurred to me - do we have forks, knives, spoons? Just re-read this thread and didn't see any.

I'm bringing a set.

I'll be stopping off at the store on the way in to grab a few things. Several members have my number. Call if there are any last minute things we need.

Joanne & I had a great time today. We saw old friends and met some new.

Just and FYI for next year. I have packed the hoses with the tower which connects to my 11 lb Propane tank. Next year, we can run the Coleman stove and both gas grills off of the big tank.

"I forgot the hoses when I packed this year". Can't happen next year, as they are now in the same box.

Hi All!

Want to thank everyone who helped with this year's BBQ. The "cookers"--Shaun, Mary, Jim K., Jack K., Dean; the "line preppers" Chris H., Pam W., & Jack B.; and everyone who contributed the FOOD & DRINKS!!. Special thanks to Jim S. with the Coleman stove--two extra burners were a big help. Another special thanks to Voula who helped with set up and clean up; and several others that helped with the clean-up--much appreciated!!!!

We all appreciated the extra shade provided by those that brought their canopies.

Thanks again, everyone!!!!!

Connie (Hammerdown) did a phenomenal job of coordinating the cookout this year.

Connie (Hammerdown) did a phenomenal job of coordinating the cookout this year. Everyone I spoke with said so. Thank you, Connie, for making it all work so the members could enjoy a great meal! And thanks to everyone who did the setup, cooking and cleanup. Your efforts were very much appreciated!! BTW several people told me the food everyone brought and the variety of foods was the best ever! Sangria was just the beginning. :D

I have to concur ^^^^^^

What a great couple of days. We had to cut our day short on Saturday due to another event but we had a really nice time. Good food, drink, cars a bunch and great people.... What's not to like!

As with most car events, it took a bunch of folks pitching in to make it fun. Thanks to all the participants, organizers and congratulations to all those that took home well deserved recognition of their awesome Marauders.

Sorry but the dark roast star bucks and half-n-half is not in y cards. I had already purchased the coffee (Maxwell House dark roast and the Parmalot milk) a few days ago.
If you insist on your Star Bucks, you can make a pot of it for yourself. Way too strong for me.

That's because they burn it when roasting. Those that drink kiddie koffee (loaded with milk and sugar) or some other fru-fru drink can't tell the difference.
