Hi all,
does anyone know which fuse controls the OBD port.
Trying to see if it's blown cause the people at the state inspection center are not getting a reading when there equipment is plugged in.:(
I checked the owners manual and found no such listing (OBD) for the under dash or under hood fuse box.
Could Ford be using a different terminology for OBD in the manual?
Thanks in advance for any info that helps.

Do you have an aftermarket tune?

Do you have an aftermarket tune?

Yes,
but thats not the problem cause they're not even getting as far as detecting a tune.
Besides the tune hasn't been a problem before.

Yes , but they may have updated their equipment (more and more states are), i would load the stock tune , drive it for a few days and return to the emissions test

I suppose it's also something to consider.
Thanks.;)

I'm not sure which fuse it is, but it's easy to check with a test light...check all the fuses with the key on it'll only take a couple minutes. Check both the dash fuse panel as well as the underhood panel.

The OBDII port is technically called the Data Link Connector. +V for pin 16 is provided by F1.105 in the BJB, but since that fuse also supplies power to the PCM, the car won't run if it's blown.

Besides the tune hasn't been a problem before.Neither was the tune in Mary's car until 3 years ago when MA updated their software.

If you plug your tuner or code scanner in does it read anything?

Never thought of that.

I had the same issue with my 04 this year after Marty's tune in OH. After the second time, I just had him run it on the rollers, passed with no problem. Maybe that was the issue. The SCT was fine!

Fuse is Not blown.
My Xcal 2 has power through the OBD port.
Guess I'll try the suggestion of installing the stock tune (shiver:() to see if it'll work.

Did this work for you?

I just had the same problem here in NY and am trying to get through the drive cycle(s) to see if it will pass the next time!

Hook up your Xcal and see if you are getting a P1000 code.

Yes but that's probably because I just returned it to the stock tune.
Now I have to drive it until the p1000 clears then try the inspection station again!

I live in ny and have never had to hook my car up to anything for a inspection. I would find a different shop!

I believe that New York inspections vary by county.

Maybe in the great white north but in the metro area all OBDII cars ('96 + up) get plugged in for emissions testing - since at least 2002.

That is a bummer!

So, after failing the emissions part of the NYS inspection due to the State being unable to communicate through the OBDII port, my XCAL could communicate no problem, I returned to the stock tune. I now had a P1000 code - monitors/sensors not ready. After a few drive cycles the P1000 went away and took it back to the same inspector - passed no problem!
Returned to the Power Surge Dyno Tune and everything is fine!

Next year I'll return to stock BEFORE I bring it in for inspection!
Don't know how any of the S/C MMs in NY will make out with this - good luck!

By the way, the tech/inspector by the name of Skylar (don't know if that's the right spelling) likes these cars and may be looking for one. Told him about this site so cut him some slack if he shows up here - He's a True Believer!

Or u could just drive a couple hours to Orange County or surrounding county and get it done with out returning it back to stock. Don't know which would be a bigger pain for ya.

That is not how it works.

+1 That's not how it works.
Don't be surprised if you wind up w/the same problem upstate - NY is not one to let revenue sources slip by - I'm surprised you are exempt from the emissions part of the inspection.
I had no problem with inspections for the last 9 years w/this tune - this is the first time I've had this problem. The Inspection software from the state that the station is using is new.
