I am still a MM owner. Sale is pending. MM owners are more knowledgeable I fell. I have a question I need answered. I have a 1992 Ford Mustang lx noch back it has the pony rims. 16 x 7. Car comes with 225x55x16. I would like to go wider all the way around. Does any one know how wide can I go. 245 / 50/16 rear and 235/50/16 front. Could I go wider. Could I take out the quad shocks or flip it around. To go wider will the rim handle a wider tire. Thanks in advance.

A 7" wheel will not handle a wider tire, that's a very narrow wheel to begin with

Most tire manufacture sites will have a recommended wheel width for each tire size.

2455016 on foxbody factory pony wheell is done all the time. You shouldn't have an issue.

Agreed, I did it 25 years ago on my '89 GT, front rubbed a little, enough to rub paint off in front inner fender when wheel is turned full lock

I had 245 50 16's on an hatchback Fox several years ago in the rear. They rubbed a little, especially over bumps and if you have any passengers in the rear seats or a heavy load in the hatch area. I never went wider in the front, though. Is your car lowered or on stock suspension?

The fox is lowered. There will be no one siting in the back seats. It's a show car only.

If 18's will fit, ever considered some wider rims? (Free Local delivery):
