I took my car in for routine maintence. Coolant flush. Trans service. Rear diff service. Brakes and tires as well.
When the tech took the diff. cover off, he noticed a few of the spider gears had chips taken out of them and there was a significant amount of metal shavings.
I was wondering if I should take this time to upgrade to 31 spline axles and 4.10's. Any thoughts?

there's no time like the present, if your wallet affords it.

its not needed unless you plan on adding a S/C, but if you pull the axles and they are worn, you might as well to the upgrade.
as for the broken teeth, its a common problem, and I put 50k on mine before did anything about it.

If it really needs it, I would definitely do the upgrade. Your already into it with the money.

here's a link to the parts I used in my rebuild, it just depends how far you want to go.
