2nd cats removed

I removed the second set of cats (very clandestine affair with cash under the table, attache cases and business suits required) and along with the magnaflow mufflers the exhaust sounds AMAZING! Next item on the agenda is removing the resonators. If I am correct in my studious research the resonators are installed in the tips, kind of like a holder to extend the exhaust pipe into the tips more? So I either have to have someone cut the tips, find someone to sell me their Meg res delete tips, or buy shorter rolled tips (I think Magnaflow makes 22" max). Do the bigger inch diameter tips or the length alter the sound at all or is it just for show?

If the sound is AMAZING, why mess with it? Having said that, I think removing the resonators isn't too difficult. I recall reading about this in the past. Hopefully you can get some good info doing a search. If you remove them and the sound isn't AMAZING anymore, then you can always put them back in. Just my two cents.

They sound amazing but they could sound amazingier! I'm just looking to fine tune the sound and removing the reses will do that.


To Finally, it normally would but I deleted the rear o2 sensors as part of my tune.

I'm running second cats deleted, 14" magnaflows, and resonator deletes. The car has a great mellow but throaty sound. Its pretty quiet in the car. You don't have a clue how loud it is until someone else drives it up the street.

Does removing the second set of cats throw any cel's ?Nope no codes are thrown. The rear O2 sensor sit in front of the second set of cats.

The resonators change the exhaust note. You'll get an increase in sound and a different exhaust note.

You have to cut the tips off, hammer out the resonators and weld the tips back on.
