My cars in need of a new MAF. Same day heading to the dmv my check engine light comes on!!!! Pulled into autozone to get checked. Oem code "po171" saying bad MAF. Well I tried cleaning and reset my PCM by taking N battery cable off but today light came back on. They had the part a Cardon remanufactured the first time $106 with core. Went back now it's out of stock. Another place wants $150 with core. My question" do they make a difference". Or by any chance anyone have and extra one laying around? Thanks. Money's tight right now after all the other car trouble I've had recently.

p0171 is a lean code.
Check for vacuum leaks.

Is the MAFS plugged in?

Check your PCV valve and hose connections on passenger side.

Thanks will do. Yes it's plugged in. Car drives great. Can't really tell the difference. I checked all hoses I think. Also when I took out maf it's had very small bit of what looked like rust on one of the metal pieces.

When is the last time you changed the fuel filter? It could be clogged causing this issue. Also check the gap on the spark plugs.
