Probably a dumb question but just wanted to get your guys input.
This will be my first time installing new brake pads on the Marauder. I just ordered the Raybestos Police which I've read good things about.
Question is, should I also get the "Caliper Hardware Kit" or do the pads come with the clips and bits that I will need.
I just wonder if the parts store guys are just trying to sell me on extra stuff I don't really need. Thanks!

How are we supposed to know if your pads come with hardware? Go on the website and read the description.
You need new hardware if its not included.
I certainly hope you are turning the rotors.

^^^what Zack said^^^
It's false economy to replace the pads only...either put new rotors on or at least get the old ones turned if they are in good shape.
Most pad kits do not come with the hardware and although you may not need to replace the caliper pins, you won't know that until you take it apart. You also should replace those little metal clips that the pads ride on...

Just get the hardware. Better to have two sets than none.
I can't believe they even sell brake pads without the spring clips, etc to me that is asinine but sadly almost all come without.
We use Monroe pads at work and they come with the clips, other than that IDK who else does.

yep, plan to get rotors turned, they look good from what I can tell. I'll get the kit anyway, just in case. Thanks.

I've never done a Panther brake job where the parts didn't include the necessary hardware. You should be fine.

Man these rear rotors were a real beyotch to remove!
Then once I got them off, the ebrake shoe linings decide to crumble apart.
Now I just have to remember how to put the new shoes back on, where the springs go, etc. I probably should have taken a pic of it before taking apart.
Oh well, I have all day until the Hawks game starts to figure it out.

You can takeoff the other rear wheel to see how the parts go back together.... :P

Does you're brake cable even actuate?
If not don't waste your time with replacing those. Unless your fixing that whole system.....

The cable does actuate. I thought about leaving them off but I tend to use the ebrake pretty regularly.
I got the shoes all back on and went to put the passenger side wheel back on only to find out that I messed up two of the wheel studs while removing rotor and couldn't get those lugs back on.
In the process of changing out the two studs now. Not fun to notice this after pads and shoes installed. Slowly but surely getting this done.

Easy to just pound the old ones out and install new ones.
