The power level you are at is about the maximum useable power to have on the street.
Keep life simple and leave it alone.

You've built a nice car, leave it and enjoy it! Get another one!
If you must pull it apart, let me know, I might be interested in doing some swappy-swappy on my parts to up the boost some more. Though my car is running great; I should listen to my own advice.

Never mind the YSI, go for the new V-11 that fits in the same brackets the blower is light years ahead of the YSI....
Don't waste your time with a 4.0 whipple although it sounds great that blower is way to big as the inner cooler won't be able to keep up......
If you talking Strictly drag set up the whipped will work but on the street forget it.....
^^^^what he said.
A properly setup centrifugal is stupid fun and reliable.

I know this will sound insane but why not do supercharger and dual turbochargers?
I can't imagine all that turbo lag will be very fun on the street. With both you crazy street car, and an insane track car.
You might need to gut the engine bay and start moving things like cross-members and the firewall to accommodate dual turbos. I guess then we're back to the funny car.
If was loaded and *******, and wanted to build the fastest marauder, I'd go tube frame ground up around custom suspension and brakes, around a dual turbo + supercharger setup.

Ive built 6 Turbo cars, and when the turbo is properly matched to the engine combo there is no turbo lag, my stage 2 Buick made over 1,000 RWHP and boost was there as soon as i mashed the gas, and that was a single 88mm turbo, im not a fan of mixing forced induction types, just too much of a headache.

Sorry to ask dumb questions, but that's all I've got. What it the common mistake that so many make with turbo? There's lots of cars, factory or no, out there with bad lag. Badly tuned blowoff? I can't see why anyone would want their car not to wake up till 3k unless it was track only.
Sounds to me like you really want to build a turbo. If you know how to make it sing at low RPM, it's just more power.
Voted for turbo cause I think that's what you really want. :) :bounce:

Not a dumb question at all, GM didnt get turbocharging right until 1986! there were Turbo regals built in 1978 sharp cars , but the didnt run worth anything, and back then "Tuning" was pretty much non existant , unless you count adjusting the ditributor, with lighter springs, and a big gap on the plugs! lol
Turbos are by far the best type of forced induction available, and also require the more complex setup and tuning, i personally think were most people go wrong is with to big of a turbo on an engine combo, and then to make matters worse get the wrong size AR housing for the turbo, if thats off no matter what you do from that point the combo will never run right, or to its full potential, torque converters are extremely important on turbo cars as thats what spools up the turbo, or causes unessecary lag on the turbo if the converter is too tight, or too loose.
My last Turbo Regal i had Kenny Duttwieller to build my engine, i learned more from him about Turbo charging than i could have ever been tought in a class room,(I think i bugged the hell out of him 3 years straight) but he always took the time to educate me on the right way, and always went into great detail as to why it needed to be done that particular way.
So ummm yes i am considering twin turbos since it has never been done on a Marauder (that i know of) , maily because this is where i feel most comfortable.
keep in mind a Turbo car built right will slam you back in the seat before it hits the 60' mark.

Wow! Best explanation ever. Totally could see how someone would just get the biggest housing they could with the lowest RPM converter and then just fart out.

The cure is a permanent one we don't want.
There is also a temporary one, but don't want that either because if not administered properly leads to added expense.
