In Sept 2013, I bought my 2004 MM, with around 71,000 miles. The next month, my LCM went out while I was in Iowa. Made it back to Illinois the next day, during the day. Bought a remanufactured, and was good to go. About a week before Louisville I started hearing a slight ticking, but the car ran fine. After I got back, I noticed that the ticking turned into something else. This is what was found, at 77,500 miles (The 6500 miles were mostly highway)

So, I had the motor rebuilt. It was suppose to take two weeks, and turned into almost six.

After hearing the wonderful news, that my MM was back to life, I got to hear the bad news:shake: The night before I picked her up, there was a bad storm. Now I have frickin HAIL DAMAGE!!!

There's more, but these two bother me the most. Actually, there's one on the fender that bothers me also, but I didn't get a picture of it. Anyways, Can't a brother catch a break? I already called my insurance, so we'll see how that goes. I wonder how much longer I'll lose my car, when it gets fixed. Summer might be over before then:(

I know it'll look good, or better when it's finished, but it just makes me wonder, what's next? I gotta keep reminding myself, that everything happens for a reason. Maybe it's so I can get my spoiler painted, when everything else gets done? IDK It just feels like people notice the dings, and not the rest of the car. "They're all gonna laugh at you!":(

Ughhh that sucks. The hail was pretty bad down here too. I was cringing while listening to the ice smack the house skylights. I ran outside and move the car into the garage as far as I could. Our cars were spared, but about a mile west, relatives had their cars significantly damaged.

The shop where the engine was rebuilt, was in Orland Park. That same hail you heard, was pelting my MM! The crazy thing about it, is that I was suppose to pick it up at 3 on Tues., before the storm hit, but the dealership gave them the wrong part to finish. So, I had to pick it up on Wed..

Here's a question, anyone know what size the bolts are on the serpentine pulleys? Can I just go to the dealership and order them? If you look at the pic of the engine, you can see my rusty bolts. Also, where can I get new cam cover bolts? They re-used my old ones!

Yes sir, you did. I went to Dukes last night, and some guy started talking to me about the dings, and that he knew a guy who could fix most of them. Then he said, that this guy was in Orland Park. I stopped listening at that point. I did have a guy at my work say, that he saw a video on youtube, where some guy was pulling out dings with dry ice. I haven't tried looking it up yet, but I don't think it would be that easy to go to Jewel and find. You know, like plutonium.

Look into paintless dent repair, they can do an extremely good job. And usually done in a few hours.

It's funny that you mention that. I was just on Youtube, watching a video on the whole dry ice myth, and I then started watching the videos, on paintless dent repair. It's amazing what they can do, but I really don't think it would work for the one, on top of the door. It's definitely an option that I plan to look further into.

I know that feeling!! There's always a brighter day for the MM. Hail damage is no joke. I was caught in a hail storm one time before the paint job and really felt like ***** after. Ever since my Marauder got repainted this has always been my biggest fear.

He even had it detailed so that he could see if he missed any. I've used him many times before, as long as there is no crease in the paint, you're good.

Just had the wife's Challenger repaired by the guy that does the cars at our dealership. $400 for about 15 dings and several were on the aluminum hood. Looks great now. PDR is a great option for this kind of thing. It's amazing what they can do with the right skills.

It cost me $3000 for the rebuild. The mechanic said that he was only making $600 off the deal.

Today, I find out how much the damage will cost. The insurance guy said, that they'll go with the paintless dent removal, until they can't.

I went for an estimate today, and was told that there was over $2300 worth of hail damage. WOW! The insurance guy said there was damage on every single panel. He saw stuff that I didn't even see! So, off for repairs she'll go.

Paintless dent repair is great. I saw a guy with a SUV that looked like a giant golf ball. the paintless guy took everyone out.
