Impressed! Very well layed out.

Per K&N*
"That brings us to size.

Use the formula below to compute the minimum size filter required for your particular application. The usable portion of the filter is called the EFFECTIVE FILTERING AREA which is determined by multiplying the diameter of the filter times Pi (3.1416) times the height of the air filter in inches, then subtracting
.75-inch. We subtract .75-inch to compensate for the rubber seals on each end of the element and the filter material near them since very little air flows through this area.

A = effective filtering area
CID = cubic inch displacement
RPM = revolutions per minute at maximum power

Example: A 281 CID Ford engine with a horsepower peak at 6,500 rpm.

281CI X 6,500RPM / 20,839 = 87.65

If you are sizing a panel filter, multiply the width of the filter area (not the rubber seal) times its length."

The panel filter would need to be 9.4"X9.4".

The filter I have is 127.25" in Effective Filtering Area.

*Note: changed to reflect MM application.

My single is smaller than his double filters and had no issue making a safe 600 hp street tune.

He'll be fine.

Looks outstanding!

It's been awhile, busy again seems to be a trend,
Car was tuned two weeks ago, can't upload the dynosheet for some reason, but the results are
601rwhp sae corrected 592rwtq at 19psi 6200 rpms
15 degrees of timing, down the road maybe I'll do an e85 or race gas tune, during tuning I had a boost leak we were unaware of, since fixing it... wow, that car is insane with the 3800 stall it's in boost very quickly. I habe not personally ran it over 14 psi, to much for the crappy tires. New meat then I'll dial up the controller, over all I am very happy with it, the mvb trans is gonna take a bit to get use to. Hopefully it'll make some passes this fall if I get a tire setup by then

It definitely takes a bit, I have a few hundred miles on mine. I received mine with a bad pressure switch on the side of the trans, I'm running a 3800 stall. Trans feels really good. Shifts are really nice, I was worried they'd be harsh, but not the case, lockup on demand is kinda neat

Gt500 shift boot fits perfectly in the opening. It has a light weight plastic frame under the leather (to keep it rectangular) and if you nip the corners just a tad it pops right in. I have it in my 6 speed and Zack is using it on his race Marauder with an auto. I can’t remember which shifter he ended up with but both applications where a breeze and cheap through EBay.

I have so many questions. you have inspired me to follow in your twin turbo steps.

do you have a parts list? Do you feel comfortable sharing that information?
are your turbo's ball bearing?
what cams, and engine internals did you go with?

would you get that transmission again over a regular built up 4 speed?

what a great thread, props on your build and thank you for sharing. very cool stuff.

Sorry, somehow I missed seeing this, journal bearing turbos, cams are 98 cobra degreed for the application, the engine was forged crank billet manley rods, arp thru out forged pistons, one of the rods has since then failed, rebuilding it with molnar power adder rods,
The transmission was a disaster, terrible experience with freddy brown, im in the process of swapping to the 6r80 and repairing my engine over the winter.
The car was a beast pretty much no lag as would be expected, from a stop just mashing it, it would smoke the tires 1st thru 3rd lol ac worked. It'll be much more enjoyable with a automatic trans again, as far as how the car performed I was extremely happy with it

Not like you didn't throw good parts in her from the start. You get any answers from Manley as to why the billet rod failed?

I will eventually have to move to a 6R80 myself in the future. When you get done that's gonna be a potent combination.

the last dsm I engine I bought had incorrect bearing sizing and galled the crank and mains, the company is no longer in business but I did a tear down after only 8 thousand miles So it can be frustrating but I always know how much better it will be the next time I work on something.

I ended up getting 99 cobra cams, i bought 4.10's and plan on going with a tremec 6 speed XL with the gears- 2.97 2.10 1.46 1.00 .80 .63

and twin 62mm turbos with the nice bearings. 18-21 lbs boost on pump is the aim.

He went on and on about the system and how no matter what he was being victimized. How he just wanted to give up.

When he finished. I stood up and said I want to shake your hand while I tell you this. I shook his hand, looked him in the eye and told him;
"Everything you said is true, never give up for it has a 100% failure rate.".

He replied - "I am not going to give up!".
