(Clicker) remote FCC ID: and key info?

Did the 2003 marauders come with a remote?
3 button ? 4 button?

Can anyone provide me with the FCC ID code from the back of an OEM remote (clicker)?

Also key wise, will I be able to program a key by myself if I only have 1 key now, or will I need a locksmith?

On eBay, I've seen some really nice all in ones that are compatible with the 2003 sable but not the 2003 marauder -BUT I've also seen some that are compatible with BOTH!

Does that just mean that any one that would work with the sable will work with the marauder?

As far as i have been told you need 2 PATS keys to program another. The dealer can do it but I hear it is around $125
(i've never had to have it done so just going by what I sorta remember reading)

lowes offers key programming for a lot less than the dealers, if you bring them a blank key, the will cut and program it for i think 70 bucks

None of those will work wit the Marauder. You need key(s) that will interact with the PATS system. Like these:

Note the remotes, the MM remote is a 4 button one. Need to verify the FCC code.

The compatibility list says neither works with a 2004 or 2003 Marauder.

If your vehicle has an ignition guard where the key inserts, this key will not work.

I don't see anything about swapping the guts in either of the ads.

Enter your vin# to be sure of correct part/fit.
Take to local Ford dealer to cut keys/program remotes. Should be about $50.

The remotes that work with the Marauder are a dark grey rather than a true black like the majority of ones you find on Ebay but the key is the FCC ID.

As far as the keys go yes if you only have the one key the car will need to be programed. You can get it done at a dealer, locksmith and any independent shop that has the Auto Engineuity scanner with the enhanced Ford software (or you can buy it yourself for $400). There may be other aftermarket scanners that have the capability too. Of course many independent shops may not have learned that their scanner has that capability.

Many hardware stores and locksmiths will clone you a key. They have a tool that reads the existing key and programs the special (ugly) programmable key. The problem with those are that the car still thinks it only has one key and you will not be able to add a 3rd key yourself.

The aftermarket flip key remote combo should work as long as it is compatible with the later style PATS system that uses the oval Ford logo key or the rectangular Mercury key like the one you likely have now. The ones that work with the trapezoid shaped key will not work. The remote portion is transferred from your existing remote and the later black cases are the same as the grey case other than the color so I don't see a reason why they wouldn't work.

The Marauder and some other Panthers are the few Ford products that moved to the new style PATS key while retaining the old style remote entry system.
