Get one of: 3W3Z 1130 AB . Seperate the head from springloaded base.Open hood.
Remove 3 black plastic screws that hold front filler down ahead of rad. Remove the one nut on the badge. Grind the inside M or waterfall or hockeysticks away. Black out exposed grey plastic. A big dab of silicone should keep the head in place, that's all there is to it.

I got an old Mercury Hubcap with the Gods head, and going to do this with it. I'll post pics when done.

Actually, you do not even need to remove the three screws in the rad filler, you can reach up from under the front of the car to the single nut holding the badge on. I painted mine gloss black, along with the trunk badge and the window brightwork. Looks very sinister.

You should post some pics of your blackout job if you can. I've been considering the same treatment for mine.

If it's the small cap from about 1950, and in good shape, it may be worth more than the $25 of a new '03 center cap

Not sure of the age, but had the godshead in reverxe resesed chrome and a red background, with in a HUGE spinner. Took 3 screws out of the back and the whole thing came apart. Main hub, spinner, foam spacer, and emblem. I've cleaned up the old emblem and will be repainting it to red, and then working on an instsall to the rear. Just been cold and or wet for like four weeks, so been no joy on getting it worked on.

Okay, you've got them painted along with the window trim. Now all you need to do is "POST THE PICTUERS" so the rest of us can see your handy work and perhaps give your solution a whirl!

What's the part number of the origanal front badge? I'd rather do this to one that doesn't belong to my car...

On RON460's Mercury Head, I would use balck caulk cylicone (spelling?) between the two pieces. It would clean up the waterfall chips and marks and also make the emblem seem like one.

A shot of the rear badge blacked out. I kinda like the idea that nobody knows what a Marauder is.

We've all been through this discussion many times. Do a search on "godshead" or "badges" or look through the threads. It's been done to death.

Welcome to the site. There's a ton of info but like most things, ya gotta dig for the good stuff.

thanks, but this thread had died 5 months ago, and was wondering if anything had happened to the badges since then, thought this was the best one to start back up since it had good pics of the steps.

SOMEONE was trying to get a "wire frame" replacement going, but who knows... That's probably gone with the die cast car...

Funds not an issue. The problem is getting the front badge from my dealers parts dept. Seems they order the badge and get sent one for a GM.

I had three done in 14C gold. I wear one around my neck. It is solid gold and is heavy. Note on the back said not to swim with it on.
I like the idea but have badgeless grilles.

Thread resurrection:

My emblem says "Marauder Supercharged". It's worn as hell. I want to take it off, repolish and paint it. there's 3 screws holding it in, with nothing in the middle. It's a b*tch to get up under there and position to get it, and now I got 2 screws out and the third one isn't budging! :mad2:

Is it easier to remove the grille?

I noticed Paul Casey's emblem looked like it was backlit.

If this was the case, does anyone have details of his mod?

Krytin was working on one where the eyes in the skull lit up. Wonder if he had any luck?
