I can officially join the MM madness. I found a low mile (50k) DTR in San Diego. After having a friend take a look at it I flew in Sunday evening and closed the deal yesterday. Tomorrow will begin a relaxing drive back to KC.

Welcome aboard, that's gonna be like a 3 week ride home in a DTR, because they are slow..... I should know, mines so slow, my oil rusts.....

Nothing like a road trip in the Marauder. You'll have lots of miles of smiles.
Enjoy your "new" wheels. AND pay NO attention to "slow" DTR jokes:D

BTW, had a friend check my car out before I saw it; then drove to the dealer and bought it that day!!!

You know you are now addicted to the "drug" right? Sell it now or be forever warned..

Glad that our friend John found his Marauder. Now on Sundays for breakfast there is almost always going to be 2 Marauders. Pretty cool for a small area like Kansas City. All we need now is a silver birch to complete the colors. ;) Have a safe drive home we will see you soon John. Best road car on the planet I promise!

Oh and dont listen to the DTR jokes. They are just jealous.

Thank you for all of the great comments. It has been a busy couple of days. I chilled on the beach in Carlsbad, CA for as long as possible and then gave the DTR a good check out for the trip back to KC. I made it out of the LA basin this morning and trekked all the way to Flagstaff, AZ. Had some fun along Route 66 (pics attached). I can honestly say that in all of the miles logged in my life, none were as enjoyable as today.

I forgot about this little event. Within an hour of buying the car I was headed up the Pacific Coast Hwy from San Diego to Carlsbad and a sweet 57 Nomad pulled up beside me. We exchanged nods and proceeded to cruise up the PCH for several miles, side by side. The car looked great and had a 4 speed manual. Make note of the passengers in the back seat. One was in a child seat and I am assuming the mother on the right. I love gearheads! I didn't notice the for sale sticker until looking at the pic. If anyone is interested, you got the number.

Loved cruising PCH when we go visit my brother. Hows the trip so far? Still smiling?

The PCH is great. Driving it all the way up the coast is another bucket list item. Absolutely still feeling good. I got into Tucumcari, NM this evening and they are having the Rockabilly Festival on the Route this weekend. Bad timing on my part, since the cars show is on Saturday and I have to get home. Sounds like a good time. http://www.rockabillyontheroute.com/ Went to wash the bugs of the front bumper when I got into town and it started to rain. Only one pic of the car today in Winslow, AZ.

As 8UWITH6 stated the trip from SoCal to KC is complete. What a great 3 days behind the wheel. The next few weeks will be spent detailing and giving a complete checkout. A tune will probably be in the future, we will see where it goes from there. My pic is not much better than 8UWITH6 posted earlier.
