Yep, I got rear-ended at a traffic light. Surprizing it wasn't some kid texting--an 18 year old was driving a company truck has severe sinus problems--didn't want to miss work so he took 2 over the counter pills---went to sleep behind the wheel--got out of the truick and told the officer what happened. Luckily his foot relaxed on the accelerator pedal and he didn't hit us very hard---didn't deploy his air bag. I got a pretty good neck snap, but some P/T is working nicely. Made contact in the last 1/3 of the right rear bumper--repairable cover--I have my original bumper with less damage and beautiful repair in storage in my garage--all shock absorbing material completey compressed---destroyed tail light---buckled quarter panel---buckled the deck lid---bent up the righ side inside the trunk--scratched up the back-up light panel---getting new Bob White decals--it could have been a lot worse--Ginny was with me but asleep so the belt caught her without any injury. THe Marauder is factory stock and 1 of 14 300A/Bs made with both all the A model accessories plus anti skid--not Canadian. Original owner and oldest member of MM.net--member # 92--knew about the Marauder Project in' 98. I knew I was going to get damaged , but it still hurts. Pics are not spectacular--most of the damage is internal.
Oh well, it could have been a lot worse. Just remember, drive safely, but with GUSTO !! Maury

Sorry to hear this Maury. :bigcry: This is my worst nightmare with driving in the Northern Virginia area. Retired mine from DD status 2 years ago. Less than a year after I got my Taurus SHO, it was rear-ended in a line of six cars by a dump truck. He wasn't paying attention and ran into a whole line of us at about 30 MPH while we were stopped in traffic. Fortunately, I was the only one able to drive away. It still did about $4,500 in damage though.

Maury, now is the time to get that Trilogy you've been panting for.
Glad to hear you and Ginny are OK. Our cars are rare, more so now, tell agent you want 20K and not one penny less. Refer him to our site for confirmation of value.

We are both fine---the Marauder is being worked on by the same people who delivered it to me new--when the dealership closed they just opened under another name as an independant garage--it was a family owned dealership and the son-in-laws did the work---they still have the equipment and connections. There was amazingly only about $ 3000+ damage--already have the check with supplemental if needed---Famers is treating me well--didn't have to lawyer up. Couldn't talk them out of a complete paint job :D Will have it back next week--could have been a lot worse Texting and stop light cameras are wiping out the bumper supplies for all makes. I think I'll just have them detail the car out and go back on the show circuit.
I was just remembering that I have only been in 4 accidents inin 68 years of driving--90% in Fords and Mercurys---would have been killed in one if I hadn't been in a Grand Marquis. SO, I'll sit and sulk til I get my baby back. Agin, many thanks for the kind thoughts, Maury

Good luck! I hope it all works out.
In a non MM I exit the Interstate and due to traffic I cannot merge so I stop.
I am rearended and look in the rear view mirror to see the driver on the cell phone. Does she hang up? Ohhh no, not until I get out and approach her. I then see her dash lined with baskets of food.
Yep, driving on the Interstate while eating and talking on the cell phone!
I forced myself to be nice so I could get the info I needed.
She hit me hard enough to smack my head on the head rest.
I still cannot believe there was no damage.

Sorry to hear it. I know how I would feel after 11 years and 205,000 miles if mine were to be involved in an accident...
The Marauder did its job! Glad you and Ginny are ok. Reward it with a full repair and keep enjoying it!

Just got back from body shop--I couldn't be more pleased. the bumper looks brand new--not a scratch ot distortion. He worked out all the kinks in the quarter panel rather than replace--can't slip a credit card between it and oem new tail light.Brand new oem trunk lid. Worked out all the scratches in the B/U light panel---he's a young guy taught body work and painting by his 75 year old Dad-----not too many of those around still. Shop is going to detail the Marauder so I can hit all the shows---I now have 8 owners ready to breath new life into the North Texas Marauders--looks like a fun summer. Will post pics when I get it back on Friday ( I hope). Thanks to everyone who helped out on the project Maury
