At last, I got my account approved. I have been lurking here since Saturday while waiting for Logan to approve my account. He did it while on travel so I owe him one. :)

Anyway, I am coming in hard on buying a blue Marauder. It is an 03 with under 12K miles.I can pick it up for 25K and am wondering if that is a good price or not. The car is in mint, mint condition with black interior.

I tell you, you guys seem like a great bunch and, from what I can tell, may be part of the reason to grab an MM.

Now, I have a question that will probably make some of you want to kill me BUT I have to ask it anyway. I am going to very OCCASIONALLY need to use this car for towing another vehicle. Yes, I said towing. LOL. I am betting that I might have the only MM with a tow hitch. I would like feedback as to what type of performance I should expect. I would install a tranny cooler before attempt this craziness.

I would really like whatever helpful comments you guys have to offer. I know some of you will think I am crazy but I won't make any secrets about it. I AM crazy. :bounce:

Best,

Dan

Welcome aboard. Sorry to disappoint you, but there are a few others here that tow with their Marauders.

Plug-in "trailer hitch" or "towing" in the Search Box above and you'll see several discussions on it.

Once again, welcome aboard.

In July 03 I paid 23,600 for a Black 03 with 12K miles. It may be that the Blues are at a premium.

Dan blue is rare.

I think $25.000 is a little high? Not that high but high by 2-3k.

If you want blue that bad then go for it!

Thanks for the feedback on the price. I have been torn about it. The car is in really, really good shape but does seem a bit high. However, NADA puts it at 26K with the options it has.

As much as I hate to, I think that I am going to let it go for right now. It's tearing me up, though. I have had a thing for the CVPIs for about 2 years now and the MM has just got me all stirred up.

Best,

Dan

Dan,

I think the 25k might be a bit rich, but not terrible.

I had to have Blue... seems like any Marauder can sell for any price... but with so many Black cars you're likely to find a less expensive Black one before you find any Blue ones. I'm not sure they command a premium, but so few change hands its tough to say with certainty that they don't either.

Are you looking at the Wisconsin car? That's the only one I saw that was Blue with the dark interior... informally it seems like most Blues have the light interior. If you're partial to the dark, that might be a reason to get serious.

One of the members here had one in the midwest that would be a better deal. I think its still listed in cars for sale.

Oh... and trailer hitches... I wondered about that myself... seems like these things should be able to drag more than 2000 lbs!

Welcome... I love my blue MM... best of luck in getting yours!

I paid $27,000 after all the incentives that I could muster on a Blue '03 with 54 miles on the odometer in October 2003. Blues are indeed rare -- only 328 made or roughly 4% of the 2003 run.

Wait a minute...Cost, color and interior pastel seem secondary to me right now.

WTF do you "need" to tow? How much does it weigh, eh?

Check my sig. The only MM with a hitch is in my garage. She tows like a dream, up to 2000lbs. My bass boat, camping trailer, and utility trailer. While installing hitches on both my MM and GM I noticed a big difference is frame rail thickness in the rear. If it was not for the lighter frame rails in the rear it would pull 5000lbs. like my 1988 Grand Marquis, probably.

Happy Towing,
Chris
