View Full Version : This piece fell out. What is it?

When i opened my door this random cover like piece fell onto the ground i searched the door for any exposed areas but there were none. What is this for?

I believe it covers the bolts on the bottom of the seat.

It's actually an ejector set retention clip. without it in place and you hit a bump too hard it will initiate the ejection seat module, and depending on what seat it came off of the seat will eject you out the window.

I had this same piece show up one day behind the passenger side seat. Thanks for clarifying.

Seems that when they get older the plastic must dry out and they pop off. Also, over zealous car wash vacuum attendants can knock them off and suck them away.

I use a small dab of clear silicone on the retention clip and the sides of the front ones. They won't pop off so easliy, but will come off is needed without damage.
