View Full Version : Welcome Me To The Club
Hello Guys,
I have some very, very interesting news...
I JUST BOUGHT A BLUE MM!!
I am so happy. Now I can't wait to get it.
Here is the story....
I have been wanting a Crown Vic or CVPI for years. When the Marauder came out I was only mildly interested until I began talking about it and learning that it is more a CV than a Marquis any day. I next went to drive one and, well, that was all she wrote.
Over the Easter Weekend it finally occurred to me, "Hey! If the CV's have crownvic.net I wonder if the Marauder guys have a forum, too?" Sure enough, a quick Google later and here I was.
I had been looking at the Wisonsin MM on eBay when you guys pointed me to the one listed here. I got on the phone with the owner this morning and we hammered out a deal. Mike seems to be a great guy. The car has the Light Flint interior, nearly every option but the heated seats and roof and it also comes with a chip reprogrammer. And, of course, the jacket. :)
I am so looking forward to owning this car and talking with the rest of you on a peer-to-peer basis.
So, welcome me to the club. This is just my third or fourth post and I am already "legit." I can't wait to organize some meets. I would like to see an MM/CV/NMA (http://www.motorists.org) meet. That would be a total blast.
Best,
Dan

Dan,
Glad you and Mr. Iowa hooked-up... you're enthusiasm is deja vu for me... I've been on the inside for less than 4 weeks now.
These things are ridiculously fun... and this website is the key to happiness with them.
Enjoy your Blue, and if you ever see a blue one going the other way... wave! It might be me!
Cheers,
Greg

NMA, WI Blue MM, ...?? Do I smell another cheeshead here?
NMA is a great site, used them as a resource before (and recommended it here), when I got a ticket a long time ago.

Dan welcome to the board. This is the place to be. The brothers and sisters on here are cooler than a freezer. Man I wish you the best on all your mods. But just a lil advice. Be prepared to spend unlimted amounts of money after the first time you ride in a are with the DR STAGE 1 and 4:10's, MIB hooked me!

Welcome Dan! And good catch on the blue MM.
Now don't be shy...update your profile with atleast a state so we all know whereabouts you are.;)
Thanks, all, for the welcome. Keep the comments coming as it gives me food for thought.
Here are a few of my thoughts...
1. I will not be assimiliated and will NOT be upgrading the performance. (NOT!!!) I already have plans to take it up to +350 if all of the mods I am thinking about add up to their advertising.
2. I am from CT. I plan on driving the car home. It will be our honeymoon - the car and mine, that is...my wife will stay home. I will probably come up with a name for the car en route. Naming cars is a tradition in my family.
3. NMA - I am from the NMA and am a former activist. I don't mean to sound like I am bragging but I am a wealth of knowledge with reference to the earlier mentioned avoiding/preventing/fighting tickets topic. I am good friends with the author of "The Speeders Guide To Avoiding Tickets" so I have learned from the best. I have been awarded "Expert Ticket Fighter" by the NMA and have been fighting the fight nearly 15 years. I will be happy to help and would make it a topic at one of the meets I plan to plan. (NOTE: I have utmost respect for all who put themselves in harms way for our safety and have no issues with any officer who does his job. I do not wish to start off on the wrong foot with any PD MM owners here.)
4. As for beer, nahh. I am a single malt or mixed drink man. Give me an 18 year old bottle, a rainy day, a comfy couch, some good friends and I am in heaven. For the more uproarious times pour me a pitcher of LIT's, shake well and watch me stir. :)
5. I was going to go black until I saw the production numbers posted here. What can I say? I have always liked the more rare and hard to find numbers. When you meet my wife you will understand. :)
6. Planned early mods are: Zack and Mac control arms if they can still be gotten, kooks or comparable from the block back, larger diameter brakes. The car comes with the chip reprogrammer. After that I will see how it does against a Stang or two and decide what it next. My goal will be to build something that can surprise an M5 but I think that might be ambitious. Hey, have I told you yet that I am ambitious?
7. I have only seen one MM in my town and it was black. If I EVER see a blue I will prolly pull a 180, chase it down and see if it is one of you guys.
Best,
Dan

No cheesehead? I thought maybe, since you mentiond the NMA (Waunakee, WI - The only Waunakee in the world).
If you are planning on driving her back, be sure to make a few stops along the way. There are lots of MM's enroute !
Let me know if I can be of any assistance, since I'm somewhat closer to your car. Email peter@dettmer.net or PM me.
Welcome aboard !

This is a great idea. I could do the MM indoctrination tour. I could stop at MM concentration points along the way and meet up with other MM folks for photos and general fun.

Awe fer Christ's sake...Where does all this love come from, and all of a sudden too? C'mon y'all, tell him the truth. He's gonna say one stupid thing and someone here is gonna get into his azz over it...Just a matter of time, eh?
Just kidding, Dan, welcome. This is a great site, more like a big nationwide family, and a lot of us call this our home. We do neat stuff with each other all year 'round, so, save some of those mod bucks for tolls, K?
