Lava rock crystals in a mesh bag work . Place under seat and they are recharged by putting them in the sun. Can't recall where to get. Try a google search for lava rock mesh bag odor absorber

To get the cigarette smell out of the '98 Ford Ranger I acquired I removed the entire interior, cleaned the seats, carpet, back and front of the door panels, all the interior trim, inside the dash and the head liner. I also wiped down the all the exposed metal inside the cab. Cigarette smell is gone.

Lmao...the way i found out about it was a friend of mine bought a used car from the stealership. Complained about the smoke smell to them about a week after he had it and they gave him a can of ozium. Told him to spray it in the car every couple hours. A day or 2 later, smell was gone.

If you have a portable ionizer (good quality) leave it running in the car with the doors and windows closed over night - problem solved.

I don't know how well this works but I heard from a from a guy that used to work in the car dealing business that if you slice up a few apples and put them in the car a few days they will supposedly suck up the smoke smell. Like I said though "I heard of it, I have never tried it." Try it at your own risk. Good luck.

I have tried this and it worked on one of my previous Marauders.

Ya gotta be REAL CAREFUL with Ozone Generators or you will Oxidize the whole interior and it will turn to dust!!

When I use a high-output ozone generator I cover rubber stuff to prevent oxidation. No problems but I'm sure YMMV applies.

Some of the "Odor Eliminator" products work well if you can saturate the source of the smell; I've done OK with the ValuGard product but getting that saturation accomplished can be challenging.

If all else fails, look into Drive Pur (think that's how they spell it).

Headliner and carpet are the main culprits.
Clean them as best as you can first to judge how much the odor was reduced before trying anything else.

Whoever smoked in your car probably had it on Max A/C all the time which recirculates the smoky air in the vents. You need to get the vents fresh. Spray some odor killer in the air intake by the glove compartment while the car is running for a bit every day. Maybe Febreze will kill it. Probably will take a while.

Always shut off the car with the climate control on floor or vents to keep the circulation door open.
Get vent visors for the windows so you can keep the windows cracked even if it rains.

Oh so that's what happened to everything in my car.
I thought someone broke into my car and stripped it clean
