On my way to work this morning I was behind this 18 wheeler who decided to throw rocks at me. Before I could dodge out of the way, I took a hit to the windshield causing a crack about a foot long. :fire:
My question is (along with the venting :mad2: ): Do our MMs have special windshields or are they the same as a GM? I'd like to know before I call the insurance company.

Different windshield. As a matter of fact, not all MM windshields are the same. I know that the 300A and 300B have different windshields. Not sure about which one the 04's use.

Mine's an '03 300A. What's the differance?

Both the A and B have a row of dots along the top of the windshield, but the A has a bigger area of dots/tinting. Ask me how I know...%&#*^ trucks! :fire:

Sorry to hear about your bad luck. I had the same thing happen the first time I took my '03 out on a trip but luckily the rock only made a small ding on the window. Ford # 1W7Z-5403100-AA or NAGS # dw 01406 gby is the windshield used on units built before 09-03-02. Cars built between 9-3-02 and 12-02-02 use 3W7Z-5403100-AA and after 12-02-02 use # 3W7Z-5403100-AB. Hope this helps.

What Neil said ^^^^^^^. IMO the glass is an easier repair than sheet metal.
