Finally, I decided to pull the trigger on some new rear tires for the Marauder today. I went with Nitto Extreme 555's and a 265 50 18 size. Man, they look awesome! I am glad I didn't try the 295's. They would have bulged too much. Here are some pics of the old BFG's and the new Nitto's...

Great tires. I am sure you will like them and they hook up great.

Same size and tire I run ... Though I only manage about 20-22k out of the rear ones ... Lead foot disease.

Look good.

I may drop down to 265/50 on the rear when my 285 Contis are bald (which will be by the end of this year).

I can't believe how much more expensive tires have gotten since the last time I bought. Pricing them now, they're 100/tire more than when I bought the Continentals...

I know what you mean! I had a quote from a place that I had gotten 4 or 5 weeks ago. He told me he couldn't honor the price because the price went up $100 for the pair! :bs:  So, I made another call and they gave me a similar deal. That was the most expensive pair of tires I have ever purchased! :o But, I really like the wider look and hopefully better grip. IMHO, they even ride a little smoother then the BFG's.

I'm pretty sure the 265-50-18 are even more expensive than the 295-45-18 I just bought. The 265-50 is an odd size and I only see NItto 555 in that size offered, I don't think anyone else offers it. The 295 were $180+ something and the 265 are over $200 from what I remember on discount tire direct

That's about right. It was about $490 out the door on the car. Hopefully by the time the 265's wear out, I will have a set of widened rears. Did you buy the 295's for stock wheels?

No, the 295 is for widened wheels already on the car

Nice! The 265's look great under the car. The 295's have to look even better! :cool4:

I have that tire on the rear along with the NT555 255/45-18 on the front. I love these sizes. Looks better than the OEM BFG's. My only complaint is they are not very good when the road is wet.

I saw a picture of your car on a recent thread with the Nitto combo. That's what pushed me over the edge. I really like the wider track! I would have went for the 255/45 in the front, but I got at least 2/3 tread left on the front BFG's and figured I better use them some more.
