View Full Version : Got me some dyno numbers

Well, my Trilogy 48, SB Marauder is about ready to pick up from MO's. A few tweaks here and there, upgraded fuel pump, carrier and 31 spline axles, new dyno tune and xcal 4, new tires, and some other services.. Marty emailed me a dyno graph and I wanted to share. This car has Diamond pistons and Eagle rods, nitrided crank inside the factory block previously installed, 2.8 pulley. I didn't want it run to the ragged edge but wanted to at least make use of the upgraded components used and keep it still "safe"as relative as that really means. So I let Marty and Jeff discuss it and proceed with what they thought would be a nice set-up/tune. It looks like I'll be at MO's late next week. Fri the 27th for the day.evening and leave Sat. unfortunatley, so if anyone is around that day/afternoon please come by the shop. So here is the graph, Marty was really pleased with it and wants me to delay my trip for a few years.

Glad to see you're bringing it home. Enjoy the drive back. Hope to see it at the all ford show at summit racing next month.

Good results. What is the compression? With my 2.8 and the +4 lower non ported I'm only at 461/487 with cams and full exhaust. Waaaayy over spinning, nothing but heat. I'd probably make more if I backed off the boost..

Edit. My car wasn't tuned with the S.W. Package, so hopefully more? Plus my clutch was slipping a tad, so i replaced that as well.
All I know is the car is useless once it's 85* :(

I'm not sure of the compression. Car has kooks and magnaflows, rear cat delete. The block was bored .020 in 2006 when the previous owner re-built bottom end with the Eagle rods, diamond pistons and had crank nitrided and balanced

There have been several discussions on dropping IAT with an Eaton. Search Eaton Heat IAT. Some went with a larger heat exchanger but I would watch the Coolant temps.

I have a Vortech A to A over spinning a "T" trim at ~19psi and went with Meth to drop the IAT. Blown 3.8 tried Meth on an Eaton but I don't know if he ever got it to properly work.

Just looked at my IATs from last Summer at the dragway. 100+ deg out, starting IAT out of the hole was 146 deg and end of run it was 174 deg. That was the 5th and hottest run. Stock Cobra intercooler. 3.0 upper and 6lb lower with ported Eaton. 11.93 @ 116

Yeesh and I thought I was struggling with "BIG" IAT's up to 140 with an average under 100. Go hairdryers!

EDIT: to be fair, it's not over 100 degrees out where I'm at. More like 75-80.

It was 95* yesterday and our shop is hotter than the last three steps to hell.

And, I know very little about your build, but I would spot you two lengths and the move and still beat you with Mark's car. Just sayin'! :D

I have to get Mark's permission of course. Although other shops race their customer cars and put 10,000 miles on 'em.

Should I order new rear tires now so they are there next week?

"And in this corner Marty "I dont always drive Marauders, but when I do they are customers roadability testing ones" O. And in the opposite corner we have D " I drive Marauders all the time and they are never mine" R.

Yeah I've read up on different ways to address it but have decided to go D-1SC instead. I did just pick up a meth kit, but have decided to hold off as it really needs to be tuned to use it right. This blower will not suffice my desires and I think a D-1 at around 20#s mated to the six speed is what will make this car.

Great for you. I love that curve! I love the peak. I bet it will be so much more awesome than the other car. Not that there was anything wrong with the other one.

Love the torque numbers down low. Will be a great car for making those tires spin. Killer chiller is always an excellent option for IAT issues...

Per Kill Chiller FAQ;
"You will see about an average of 5-7 degrees increase in the in cab temps under optimum conditions...".
