Last I knew Larry, that car was in your back yard. It has an interesting history.

Bob Schubert in Garden City. Not really sure how close that is to you. I first saw it about 15 years ago when it was in the hands of the second owner, a Ford engineer. Bob is owner #5. It's been from St. Louis to Detroit to GA then Mass and now back to MI.

Thanks, that is interesting, G/C isn't that far from here, I will try to look him up from here and let him know there are other Marauder's around, until I met you I never saw another Marauder and that's been in the past 35 years.

Damn I'd love to find my old Black 63 Merc 406!

Mine was owned and sold in Kansas in the mid-seventies...

I'd buy it back in a heartbeat!

Best Regards,

David

You don't remember the "Magic Bus song"? :rasta: :beatnik: :DYes I do, but I was in third grade when it came out!

My '63 S-55 Merc (Marauder 406 6V) was 12 years old with 34,000 miles on it when my dad's lodge buddy, who owned the local funeral home, sold it to me for $300. At the time I really didn't know what I had. I did know that it was big, air-conditioned, black, shiny, ugly (not a 2-door) and would beat the pants off the other 'cool' cars that other teens drove (mustangs and camaros, etc.) It also had a slide down rear window for 'bombing' (shooting bottle rockets at the cars behind me!) The trunk held enough beer for a weekend for the whole gang. Bumpers were so big that we could play 'shopping cart polo' at night when the stores were closed. Great memories with that crazy car!

Mr dad's 70 Merc (429) couldn't even touch it. I know, he tried to chase me down once!

Damn I wish I still had that car!

Of course, That beautiful red Merc. 427 in the posted link would be nice too!
