Unfortunately, I'm going to have to sell Devil Girl . That was a hard decision - I've had a lot of cool cars over the years (and a lot of beaters, too ;) ), but Devil Girl has to be my all-time favorite. I just can't justify another car that only gets about 1,000 good-weather miles per year. Hell, one is a luxury ! If I was Jay Leno, I'd park her in my living room.

That was a huge factor. An Eaton swap is WAY more of a project than I want to get into. I also like the conservative aspect of the Trilogy setup ; I'm not looking for a balls-out track car or something that needs constant fiddling with.

:congrats: Frank  Wish your DTR was a charcoal interiored version. Any idea what you'd be asking for it? :dunno:

Wow! Congrats! I can still say I've never seen a DBP in person. I think it's my favorite color, then silver.

That is my dilemma right now. Seems like it might be easier to get one done.

Congrats on the score! I really like the blue!

I'm from Humboldt. What part of Iowa is Collins in? :) Oh, never mind, I see where it is. Gee I wonder if Frank needs company on the drive to pick up the car? :big grin:

I'm only driving one way, but the next time I go to Iowa you get first call ;)

Love to ! I'm going right by you - I'm taking 80 from Ohio instead of heading south to the PA Turnpike, and then coming down the Extension.

Yea, Frank! :dunno:

It is going GREAT ! Sorry I haven't posted sooner, I couldn't get the Tapatalk to work from the road, and I haven't gotten a chance since I got back.

But yes, it is going GREAT. Got to Des Moines first thing Wednesday morning and met Matt (soultosoul) at the airport. He is a super nice guy, and it was nice to meet him and have a chance to talk for a little while. The car had a fresh oil change, and was gassed up and ready to go !
Iowa was clean and orderly, and full of happy people - pretty much the opposite of Philadelphia. I could see Mrs. D coming from there :)

I had planned on taking I-80 all the way back to PA and stopping near Toledo, OH on Wednesday night (about half-way), but I was told that the traffic and construction from around Chicago all the way into Ohio was terrible. We adjusted south and stopped in Indianapolis late.

The ride through the Corn Belt was great - the roads are in great shape, there wasn't any traffic and it's really scenic. We got a few lottery tix in every state.

We left Indianapolis in the morning, and got to Philadelphia late Thursday night. These were two long, full days on the road. WORTH IT. I even made it to work Friday, for reasons unknown - I got zero done.

The car ran perfectly. It is the embodiment of what Marauders were meant to be IMO - it's smooth and strong, and at home on the open road. "You could shave the bride's a** in this car at 115," as Tom B used to say ;)
The kick from the Trilogy is fantastic ! MikeC, who had the Trilogy installed, says it is #194.

I knew I was taking a chance, buying a car I never saw in person and then driving it 1,000+ miles in two days - that definitely has the potential for a lot of grief . Well, the car is better than I expected - it's in great shape inside and out, and absolutely everything works, even the little fussy accessory stuff.

I am going to have to make it to more outings, just to drive it around and show it off ;). I regret not being able to make the New Hampshire trip this year - the Iowa trip kind of ate up the travel budget for this summer. Again, WORTH IT.

I washed the bugs of six states off her this weekend and will post pix ASAP.

Great finish to a great buy! Congrats!

"I got it from Matt, on a farm in Iowa, and drove it back" is definitely a better story than "it was on Craigslist in North Philly" or "some lady traded it in on a KIA" ;)

Very cool, Frank. Hard to beat that scenario. Glad your trip and the car exceeded expectations. We look forward to seeing you soon and meeting your great new Marauder!
