I'm sooo fired up about it because the look on the guy's face was totally priceless!!!! One of shock and disbelief. It happened last night and I'm still smiling:D

I ran into him last Saturday on Woodward where we only had a chance to make one run. The race was essentially over before I had wound out second gear. By then, I about 3 cars on him. I finished out 3rd gear anyway so that I left no doubt in his mind (yes, I am cruel, I know:)) His car still had the sticker in the window too that night too.

Well, someone must have told him that his car should be faster than a MM or something, because I ran into the same guy again last night and he still wanted more. He looked about 50 or so and obviously lives near me. The best part was the way he banged on his steering wheel at the next light. He never rolled down his window to say anything, so I'm sure he doesn't even know about my blower lol.

Man....this is gonna be a great summer!

300C, is that the thing that looks like a cross between the Green Hornets car and a WWll tank?

Man, it's so new he's still got the sticker on the window and he's red-lining it already? :nono:

Well, I guess he's the one that has to explain a warranty claim and not me. Nice job showing him what a super charged Marauder can do!

Mike, you are so cruel. That poor guy is already thinking "Damn, How many more payments do I have on this thing". He is also saying "But, but it has a hemi". Maybe I can catch him and give him a run with just Lidio's chip and 410.

Yeah, I'm sure you could give him a good run. But, I dunno.....he may never try that move against another MM:D He's scarred for life:D

Mike, That is *****ing priceless! Thats the kind of stuff I love doing...that look on their face is awesum! I am going to start carrying my digital camera with me in hopes of catching one of those kodak moments. What cracks me up is they look down their nose at you at the first light...smoke them badddd...then at the next light they look straight ahead...as if they dont see you, you must not be there...denial sets in after being whomped on by a Trilogy Marauder!!

LOL  No *****! That's exactly what happens! They won't look over to save their souls. Somewhere deep down they know I'll be laughing and that would be too much to bare if they saw that:D

Imagine this Mike.... You, me and Lidio out prowling Woodward or Gratiot... The wolfpack looking for fresh meat to devour and spit out. In search of new victims. Can you picture three Trilogy Marauders tag teaming them! LOL. You beat them....then I beat them...then Lidio annialates them! In the nearly impossible chance we come across something that may edge you out slightly (hell, i know its a longshot, but it could happen? maybe...), they will have to get past me then Lidio...talk about running the gauntlet!!
Michigan will never be the same....

You guys are some "bad muthafu" shut your mouth, I am only talking about Trilogy, Well I can digg it, They are complicated cars that no one understand them but their owners, Trilogy Marauders.

What we have to watch out for, is when the Hemi guys start supercharging their cars. The problem, is they have a huge displacement advantage to work with. I'd like to see a stock matchup of a Marauder against a 300C to see where we stand stock for stock.

This will be the first week that I will be able to get some good driving time in due to the weather. I will be looking for one of these each day I drive. I want to see how mine stacks up to a 300 now.

Good point. But, the 300C is marketed to a segment unlikely to do much modding. Sure, there's bound to be a few, but I don't see it happening in any significant amounts. Unlike the MM which was marketed as a muscle car from the start, the 300C is solidly in the luxo sports sedan segment. A blown 300C Hemi would be interesting though.

Great one! Especially since MM's are giving the "Shaft" to other cars! (Some younger members may not get this one.)

With all the hype about the 21st century HEMI, you have to wonder why Chrysler is pushing it so hard with all the advertising? I'm certain they want to link today's 'hemi' to the monster HEMI of the late 60s. I also have to wonder how well a S/C MM would run against a 1970 HEMI 'Cuda.

I suspect the result would be very different. The real HEMI did not allow the competition the time to play with it! :banana2:

New Hemi -vs- Old Hemi?

Latest issue of Car & Liar has the new one running 13s, and hitting 60 in the 5-second range. I don't remember the specifics... mind was too busy trying to block out the photo image and figure out how to pay for a Trilogy set-up. But it seemed pretty freakin' fast too me.

Anyhow, new Hemi is going to run that good all the time, and has enough tire on the ground that my mom could make it go.

Old Hemi (much as I love 'em) is gonna need its points fiddled with, plugs freshened up, carb-a-tooter adjusted to compensate for the phase of the moon, and when you do get it running right those damn bias ply tires will just go up in smoke.

No disrespect to the old one... its an unfair comparison.

But man, do we live in a great time for cars or what? My bone-stock 281 cubic inch Merc makes 100 hp more than my 460 cubic inch Merc! And it gets double the gas mileage.

Not really. Here are some stats from the 1970 Hemi Cuda (per C&D for what its worth):

General Information
Price: $4,035 (1970)
Miles Per Gallon: 7/11 mpg
Curb Weight: 3620 lbs
Layout: Front-Engine/RWD
Transmission: 4-Speed Manual
Engine
Type: Hemi V8
Displacement: 6981 cc
Horsepower: 425 bhp @ 5000 rpm
Torque: 490 lb-ft @ 4000 rpm
Redline: ---- rpm
Performance
0-60 mph: 5.8 sec
0-100 mph: 13.0 sec
Quarter Mile: 13.1 sec @ 101 mph
Skidpad: .--g
Top Speed: 117 mph
Braking, 60-0 mph: --- ft
Slalom Speed: --.- mph

That's just not enough to beat a Trilogy MM. And that's not to mention everything mentioned above about the headaches of outdated technology.

Its funny...back then everything "seemed" faster. More smoke, more noise. But, for the most part, many cars didn't really run that fast. There were some definite screamers. But the majority of late 60s early 70s muscle were low 14 sec cars. Just food for thought.

Hemi's weren't slouch's and besides the Hemi-Dart most of these #'s are with crap tires.

Very cool, and, the 426 Hemi was pure factory....imagine adding great tires and some of today's technology!

I'll have to test drive one of today's hemis to see whether nailing it will still put me in the back seat!!

That's a good point. I wonder what some of those old cars could have done with some modern tires for better hook up?

My 70 Torino Cobra did 11:50's all day, with 10 inch M&H's and a little shot of nitrous.

I'm willing to bet that most of the 300 sedans you run into on the road won't be the C model and will instead have the smaller engine options. A supercharged 300C would be fearable.

I also remember the old 440 Magnum...Whole lotta power, and a lot less tempermental than the Hemi.

The problem wasn't with the Hemi, it was with the owners. The people I've known with them have never had a problem and it is a reliable motor. Other than plugs and those freggin points, which most all have upgraded, those are the only problems, if you call that a problem, I call it maintenance.

Exactly, my old 406 was no slouch either!

My 71 Torino (currently owned) with the 351C HO is still quite entertaining.

I always wished I had one of those old 427's OHC's though...

They were an absolute monster!

Fords (First On Race Day) forever!
