View Full Version : Stalling

I'm a fairly new Marauder owner here and love the car.....
One issue I am having is that when I am sitting at a red light the RPM's drop so low that the car seems to want to stall out. It hasn't actually stalled yet but it's to the point that the "battery" light comes on and the car is just barely running. If you pop it in neutral, the RPM's jump a bit of course and it is fine.....
Is there a sensor or something that it could be? Also when I back into the garage when the car is warm it does some sort of "surging" with the RPM....
Suggestions on what to try??
Thanks in advance!

Is there something in particular that I should trying cleaning it with? Or just a dry rag? Or...?
Will it set off any codes in the car by removing it?
Thanks for the replies guys, much appreciated!

Use any electronic parts cleaner that doesn't leave a residue.
This (http://crcindustries.com/ei/product_detail.aspx?id=05110) works awesome. Available at most FLAPS.

I've been having the same issue, started this year when I started using the a/c again, seems to happen when I'm cruising down the road (not highway), a/c is on max, at a slow speed and bam, she's stalled, have to throw it in neutral, pull over and restart, fires every time but need to fix it. I think I'm having a brain fart cuz I'm not sure what an IAC is lol, plugs have been replaced, MAF cleaned and no changes.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as usual

I have the same problem. Just bought the car a month ago. I told the sales guy I felt the car was idling kind of low and he said "they all idle low". Mine doesn't cut off or battery light come on, but I hate the low idle.
Where is this IAC at? The car has a K&N cold air induction system.
Thanks.

You know now that I think about it this stalling got really bad after I cleaned and reoiled the k&n filter, I as well have the cold air kit, thinking now that excessive oil from the filter gummed something up, definitely looking into that tomm. If I'm not mistaken the IAC should be in the area of the intake plenum, I've replaced them on gt Mustangs but never on a Rauder but it should be in the same area, I'll try to find a picture of it and post for you.

Mine's never stall just small jumps in rpm at idle & downhill coasting, made exhaust tone fluctuate because of the jumper rpm

No cel, I changed all cops; plugs & pcv. Also gave her royal purple mhx oil change, cleaned throttle body. She's running great, but still notice small rpm jumps. Clean iac clear right up. 2 days later started back. Waiting on AutoZone to ship replacement

I least I got a full tune up out of the whole track down, also fix a few other issues that wasn't really problems. Should be receiving my x4 & tune tomorrow from Marty0. I think I'm going to wait til I replace iac first, so I can experience that 1st test drive wit the tune to its fullest

Oil from your k&n can screw up the MAF. Clean it with a spray electronics cleaner.
