Hello,
My name is Doug McNary, and I am a Mercury Marauder owner! (finally) Now that I got that off of my chest, let me say that I am very, very pleased to have just purchased a used 03 Marauder. :)
I have been reviewing your site for a couple of weeks now, and I am amazed by the accumulated amount of knowledge, and fun it contains.
Thanks to your site, I now know that I purchased a 300a model, without the CD changer, or trunk organizer. (going to work on the trunk organizer and a "few" other "small additions" soon! ;) )
I just wanted to say hello and intoduce myself. Thanks for listening to me!!
Doug
P.S. Any other Southern Illinois Boys out there?

Yeah, I was kind of bummed when I found out that it didn't have the changer. Is that something that I could add? Is the factory wiring there, and I would just have to plug it in, or is there more major wiring involved??

Doug - Welcome to the site. :D All MM's have a CD player. I believe he means the 6 disc changer in the trunk. The wire harness is not installed. It can be purchased from any dealer. Enjoy your new ride.

Doug,
how far south are you?
We have some friends and family in the town of the white squirrels.
If you know where that is, you are really south.
Welcome and enjoy the ride !

Acutally, I grew up in a town only about 30 minutes from the Home of the White Squirrels! I currently live in Murphysboro, which just west of Carbondale, home of Southern Illinois University at Carbondale!

I know that Olney has an ordinance against annoying the white squirrels. Has it ever been said just what annoys a white squirrel?

Marion is about 20 miles east of me. I go over there pretty regularily to shop, eat etc..... I'm not sure what crime would rise to the level of annoying a white squirrel, but I don't want to find out. I understand they take that ordinance pretty seriously!

As far as I can tell, the wiring is there in the Marauders, but there are trim pieces etc that go with the changer that are not.

Hello,

Hi Doug and welcome to MM Anonymous. Unfortunately, you will get no help here to cure your addiction. It will only get worse with each new post. Get ready for the ear to ear grin that comes from driving a Marauder.

Welcome to the addiction. There is a truly amazing amount of collective knowledge on this site, and just as important, a real collective spirit of sharing and helping out (although we do have our family squabbles). You'll find somebody with an answer or at least a very educated guess to any question or concern you have about your MM. Enjoy!
