Just got this message from Tim at MPH when I asked for an update:

"It gained 57rwhp removing the o2's.. He is swapping the cats out. Everything is seized up so he is having a tough time getting the pipes apart".

What is the deal with SW cats?

Good thing I dropped off the extra pipes just in case the cats had to come off. What is the deal? They are only a couple years old, if that.

What are some of the ingenious ways you guys are getting around emissions testing?

I looked it up. I bought them on 9/26/12. So 1 year 9 months. What failures have you guys experienced with these? I remember one guy had one that unraveled.

I have no issues with my complete S-W system.

I have put over 30,000 miles on the system since the install. Almost 200 of that mileage was at the VIR chasing the SVT team MM around the road course.

I had just talked to a subie guy at the gas station the other day. He said most of them are running catless and use O2 simulators that work great. I'm thinking about this....interesting though.

I'm done with the Cats. I just got back from the DMV and changed my address to my brother's house near Peoria. No more emissions testing there.

Still no word on the CAT warranty from SW.

Don't try this in New Jersey. When they run a mirror under your car, it had better show cats. Only cars with QQ plates are exempt from inspection in NJ. I have collector car status on the MM, but it still has to have an EPA certified exhaust. Then, they check the mileage.

No offense, but I would never live in NJ. I hate Illinois too, so don't feel bad.

NJ ain't so bad. I have been to parts of Pa. where they still do moonshine!

I liked Cape May though. I was there in '76 when it got sideswiped by a hurricane. Good time, especially for a 13 year old.

SW cats strike again! It was my set that unraveled on the dyno and stalled my engine. Then after that it was down 100hp and wouldn't make any power under full boost. I knew that was your issues after dealing with them myself. SW offered me 10% off a new set but I decided to go with American racing cats and they have been trouble free.
Glad it was something simple, just may get a little expensive to replace.

No, 10% off because they were on the car for a few years. Even if it was a better deal, I wouldn't wanna install a product that may fail again in the future.
