had a smell after driving fast , almost smells like a burning tortilla lol i checked under the car and no leaks are visible of any kind, so i went on another hard run and the smell was still there, could it be that i have a tortilla stuck somewhere ? or maybe bad cats ?

What kind and brand of fuel do you use? This is the research chemist asking.

It may sound crazy, but... my mother couldn'd stand the T-Butyl Ether they put in the Exxon gas. It gas her terrible migraine headaches and severe nausea. As the TBE was only used part of the year, it cleared up and then came back every few months.
The cats did make it smell like rotten eggs. Could your tortilla smell be caused by a fuel additive? Do you get it from all brands of gasoline?

Sounds like you have excess fuel burning out of the cats.

You don't put fuel additives in... the oil companies do! All fuels have additives, even race fuel.

I agree. Under normal driving the catalytic converters, (if you have stock exhaust, you have four of them) can burn off pollutants in the exhaust gas. Under wide open throttle, the cats can't keep up. So you are probably smelling "in-treated" exhaust like when you follow an old car (or new car) without cats.

I only have two and smells awful after a pull at the next red light. It's called character building. :)

Now that I really think about it (smelled it today :) ) my smell is more of a chemical, like plastic burning or something. Only seems to happen when the brakes are getting a good beating and has less to do with heavy acceleration.

Get the car in the air and check to see if the heat shielding above the lead pipes just before the 2nd set of cats is touching or laying on the lead pipes.

I had to remove mine as it had fell down and was laying on the lead pipes.

A leaky PCV system will smell horrible at the stop lights. But you would usually have some sort of vacuum leak issue if this is the case
