Has anyone tackled the wiring of crown vic tail lights on a Marauder? I bought cv tail lights with amber blinkers that requires 4 bulbs. I want two bulbs to be running lights an brake lights. While two bulbs are blinker only. Is this even possible since the lighting module is involved? Thanks in advance

Most people would say CC tailights on an MM is a down grade.
Yes it can be done quite easily. I added 2 extra bulbs to each idea of my MM tail lights.

Did you separate your brake lights from the blinkers?

There is a long write up on crownvic.net regarding the conversion. I wanted to tackle it too as I wanted the tail lights to be even more unique than that of an average crown vic. Just as the 99 cobras had amber signals. Never tried it though.

Who cares, Marauders pretty much have crown vic tail lights anyways. There's more Marauder/CV tail lights vs 98/01/02 lx sport tail lights out there.

You need to cut/stop the brake light power going into turn signal switch and that would give you turn only at rear. then get your brake light only power from your center stop light.

What?????
All you need to do is clip the turn signal wires going to the existing sockets and connect them to the new sockets.

Hmm. I didn't look at the diagrams too long but I thought the flasher/brake lights came from the LCM on the same line? Thus being a problem when trying to isolate just the turn signal?

Seen one where you pull blinkers from the front.

I can see that working as I have messed with the fronts, they have a running light, turn signal, and ground wire each. Would just have to run wire to the back of the car.

I always thought the amber turn signals would look really sharp on a Marauder.
Now I'm thinkin'........ :D

I saw this on youtube where they had the sequential's hooked up to the turn signals on the CV tailights that are the yellow/orange color. I really thought about this cause I like the separate turn signals lenses, but decide to just add the two sockets to the bottom of my tailights...pics when done...might put this back to plan A...

I added two more tail lights per side about 8 years ago. Will check for pics.

The 4 light system uses a different rear body wire harness from the left foot well connector back. However, the only real difference between the two is that the brake light feed (dark Green wire) comes out of pin #12 in the connector and goes back into pin #8 to go the multifunction switch to work with the turn signal switch. The 4 light just has the DG wire from pin #12 run all th way back to the tail light connectors. The tail light connectors are different in that they have the DG wire now.
If you look at the wires coming out of the 16 pin connector (square) in the left foot well of the MM you will see the DG wire is just a loop.
So, the easiest way to do it is to cut the loop, run a new DG wire from pin #12 back to the tail lights and then add the CV 4 wire tail light connectors on each side and use the CV tail light lens feed harnesses (should come with the lights).
The MM is only three (it's missing the DG brake light feed)

Hmm, just the little inserts are lit up...I was thinking the bottom of the taillamp to add bulbs and then just hook a wire into the existing socket and just piggy back to the new one...

I asked Steve Babcock about that at MV-IV (?)(2nd Indy meet) and he said they did not use it because he wanted a stealth look.

Anyone who thinks the back of the MM doesn't look like a CV in stock form is in denial. I say do as you please to make your car unique.

And yet the 2-bulb, black trim CV (P71 in particular) taillights (sans tint) pre-date those of the Marauder.

personally a marauder should look like a marauder. Obviously everybody knows the very subtle differences the marauder has versus a CV or MGM.
When you start to lose all the details of a car that makes it unique, tailights, headlights, bumper covers, wheels, etc...., to me it takes away from the value of the car itself. But hey thats just my opinion, and if you are happy with your CV tailights on your marauder, then thats fine.

I say make whatever changes to your car you want to. It is your car. On my car, I installed a receiver hitch as my first change. A couple of years ago, my car was grazed on right rear corner taking out the bumper cover. I installed a FoMoCo CV rear bumper cover instead of the nearly nonexistent and WAY overprice MM rear bumper cover ($175 vs $1500+). The CV bumper cover gives it a stealth look. It doesn't draw as much attention when you don't want it. MOST IMPORTANTLY - I AM FINE WITH IT AND LIKE IT. Anyone who says this is bad or horrible to do is free to send me a check for complete cost of a MM rear bumper cover, paint, and install if they are still available and I will change it.
I say make your car your own and enjoy it.

Years ago on a CV we had with the amber bottom lights we took some Nightshades tint and tinted the lens. Since the car was dark grey it muted the tail lights. But we then put extra coats on the amber portion of the lens. It made then look solid dark when un-lit and then the amber came through when the turn signals were on. And did the sequential lights on the ambers. It did look pretty good when done. Can't find the close up pics any more.
