This is an idea from another site. I am sure many of you have seen it. If we can get enough people to submit their MM centrifugal / pulley combo this could be a very informative thread.

Use the format shown below
1) RWHP/Torque?

2) Engine and Compression?

3) Amount of boost at ____RPM?

4) Type of Blower?

5) Pulley Combo (Blower Pulley ___", Crank Pulley ___")?

6) Tensioner type (Stock/One-Bolt/Three-Bolt/Thump Racing)?

7) Ported Heads?

8) Cams?

9) What intake?

10) Intercooler?

11) Exhaust Combo?

12) Fuel?

EDIT: I'll be updating this post to summarize SOME of the info posted in the thread:

My P1SC is using the 15psi pulley (forget diameter) and it is only hitting 12psi so I am ordering a 10% overdrive balancer next week. I can buy a smaller SC pulley but i am afraid of belt slip.
I am using the stock balancer but I added the "ZACK" extra ilder pulley.

Stock intake and exhaust minus 2 cats and no baffles in tips (sounds sweet!).

All forged internals bored and stroked 5.0 MMR with all ARP bolts and head studs.

Water/Meth injection.

May get it dynoed after new balancer gets installed.

Heres a couple pics of the new 3.0 pulley i installed , its basically a Reichard racing style pulley to address belt slip at the S/C (i had a Vortech 2.9 on when it was dynoed)

In this hot weather (107+ degrees) I am barely making 12psi. I am going to order my 10% overdrive balancer this week. I'm hoping to get to 15psi.

Not sure if or which Thumper tensioner will work with a ProCharger setup.

I drive 15K-20K per year. I tried several pully and the best for my set up is;
Vortech 8-Rib High-Traction Profile Supercharger Pulleys are machined from 6061 T-6, hard anodized aluminum with the proper profile to maximize surface contact area for precise fit. Each pulley is built to SAE standards.

It is all in the alignment, one washer makes the difference.

I have my belt changed every year even though it's in good shape.

I used the 96-99 3 bolt

It took some modifying to mak it fit- altered spot faces for the bolts and narrowing the pulley so it would rub the timing cover. :shake:

Messing with spot faces to work with the procharger I understand but narrowing the pulley wtf for the price of that thing that was messed up. I thought about back charging them

I have already saved $60 in belts though :D

My cobra one was cracked on the back side. I figured it would just happen again so as darrin says, go big or go home. (Big=$$$) :depress:

I updated the post on MarauderTJA's old setup. It really seems to be a great HP combo. 641HP on 93 octane at 18 psi of boost with stock displacement and stock intake and heads. Among other things, the good numbers may be attributed to the custom cams.

Jerry, what SC pulley size was used to get 18psi? It does have a 10% OD crank pulley correct?

Mike, knowing the remaining of your setup would help answer your question. Rather than taking your P1SC and having it upgraded to a D1SC I would consider buying a D1SC and then selling the P1SC. Less downtime and most likely more cost effective. Other upgrades may be necessary though (injectors, MAF, etc.).

Hey Jeronimojc,

Saw you were lurking around the da'laws Marauder on the TCG site.

So here is some Highlights of what Zack did.

10:1 Shortblock
Heads done (stock)
Upgrade to D1 blower (16psi)
Bigger intercooler and cleanup of the ugly procharger piping
Blow Through MAF and big noisy blowoff valve http://www.thechicagogarage.com/forum/images/smilies/eek3.gif
Return Fuel System
J-Mod
Stainless Works Headers
Gauges including Wideband
Installing a Walbro 400 (Later Changed to a Walbro 465 after Walbro said the 400 didn't play nice with E-85) -8 line and rails. Gonna use the stock feed line as the return.
Also modifying the fuel hat.
Zack's modified 170* stat. Homemade with the spring from a Stant 13967.
catch can behind the drivers side foglight
The BOV was located in the area behind the passenger fog light
535 rwhp
448 tq on E85
17* degrees of timing

Added the link from TCG so others can see the whole build.

http://www.thechicagogarage.com/forum/marauder-tech/123308-da-laws-marauder.html

Just had it out and my buddy from the Sheriffs Office (whos Dad did the original supercharger install) got to finally drive it. Nearly had to wrestle the keys from him, cause he did not want to give them up!!:D

Mike,
I had forgotten about your MMR stroker with .020 overbore, even though it is in your sig. With that block I would surely be considering the OD Balancer AND the D1SC. Don't know what your fuel system will support though.

Don't know what S/C pulley size you are using, but have you calculated how fast you'll be spinning the P1SC with an OD balancer? You may be getting close to overspinning it at max RPM. Do you have stock cams?

Looking at various setups, I think a D1SC with a 10% OD balancer and a 3.2 SC pulley would put you in the 20-22 PSI range without overspinning the blower. That would be some serious HP. What's your MMR block good for?

Da'law's setup:

1. RWHP and Torque? 535 rwhp 448 tq on E85
2. Engine and Compression? Stock 10:1 CR
3. Amount of boost at X RPMs? 16 psi
4. Type of Blower? D1SC
5. Pulley Combo / 6-Rib or 8-Rib? 6-Rib
6. Tensioner type?
7. Ported Heads? No
8. Cams? Stock
9. What intake? Stock
10. Intercooler? Treadstone Air to Air
11. Exhaust Combo? Stainless Works Headers
12. Fuel / Degrees of timing? E-85 / 17* degrees of timing. Returnless system w/ Walpro 465 and -8 lines and rails.

I was trying to get a feel for the relationships between compresion ratio, boost, and HP and ended up creating a table for the setups we have so far. I realize the chart below the table, which charts boost vs HP, is to a large extent useless as there are too many factors not accounted for, but I am throwing it there hoping to generate more discussion.

Thoughts?

A while back I read various setups to see how much boost people were getting with their pulley combinations. I took that info and used it to develop a spreadsheet for my own use to estimate boost (for both stock crank pulley and a 10% OD crank pulley). I thought some of you may find this useful. Please keep in mind this is only an estimate based on some empirical info and ratios for a D1SC and engine RPM of 6,500. This also assumes little or no belt slip. At some point the Maximum Impeller Speed becomes a factor. I believe the D1SC Max Impeller Speed is 62,000.

I noticed a big boost difference between various D1SC setups of similar SC pulley and crank pulley size. It wasn't until I started paying attention to the 8-rib vs 6-rib that these differences started making some sense. In short, it makes sense that an 8-rib setup has less belt slip so I decided to collecte some info from 8-rib setups. In my opinion, anyone with a 6-rib setup should be seeing roughly these numbers provided they have little or no belts slip.

NOTE: Some people use larger crank pulleys so I had to "convert" their setup to their equivalent of a stock crank pulley. Therefore, the chart below only works with the stock crank pulley (6.5"). Unfortunately, if you ignore this and go with a too small SC pulley, you'll probably end up with belt slip and won't replicate the numbers below.

As always, keep in mind, there are many other variables that this chart doesn't account for, but it's a start.

Sounds like some great mods! I'm going to swap trans and go with a 4L80E , and a Circle D 3500 stall , currently have a 3K stall.
I may be interested in your 3k stall

So literally double what you posted on facespace when the guy asked you what numbers or made. Awesome! I remember when you bought the car, the fs thread was titled something like "luxury land missile" so I knew the public numbers had to be on the low side 😉

You either got faulty parts , or a poor installation.

no way to prove either side but one party is willing to help. the parts have a lifetime warranty so when those come in, life starts all over for me. My boost goal lives on.
