Hello everyone

Just a quick question, to remove left front housing I need to remove washer fluid tank to access the bolt/screw to the rear correct? I've oly removed them on crown vics and it just had an external screw. Plus it's very hot today so I'd rather not waste any time:flamer:haha.

Thanks Fellas:wave:

Nope....... Remove the two 10mm nuts between the headlight and header panel. Pull out the lenses.

How many nuts did you have to retrieve? :DOne on each side, just smacked the bumper cover on the bottom to make the nut jump up in the air, and it dropped to the ground.

I usually take them off by hand once they are loose.

Mine barely fit...... Looks like I've been fighting a cat after I've done both sides.

That's what I do.

That's how I got them back on. May have to try it again.

Has anyone used any LED bulbs? Installed the front turn signals (3156, turns yellow when lit.) First install, turn signals didn't flash, flipped bulb, worked. Took car out to KY this weekend, could hear flashers flashing quickly, like bulb was out. But they worked. Investigated yesterday and realized that I had no parking lights on front. Any guesses?

I might be mistaken, but I seem to recall that there was a resistor that had to be installed in-line to slow the flasher down...you might want to ask the liting gurus on here..Good Luck

First you need to add resistor to each turn signal to eliminate the rapid flashing. The rapid flash is caused by the LCM not finding enough resistance. LED's have almost no resistance so the LCM thinks a bulb is out.

3156 bulbs are ONLY turn signals. You need to install 3157 bulbs which are turn signal / parking / brake lights.

Look at your 3156's, you'll see only one filament. 3157's have two filaments.

What's the advantage to LEDs, they aren't brighter! Good thing that I didn't buy them, won them at Louisville. Now to scrape up the hands again...

- What's the advantage to LEDs, they aren't brighter ! -

They last 25 - 50 times longer, and are resistant to shock, vibration, impact, extreme heat & cold, and weather conditions. For all practical purposes, they are probably good for the life of the vehicle - several times over.

One of the main advantages to LEDs is more energy is used for light.

Incandescent bulbs use only around 10% of the power for light, the rest, 90% is wasted as heat.

LEDs use 90% of the power for light and only 10% is wasted as heat.

LEDs last longer

LEDs startup quicker (brake lights)

LEDs react quicker (turn signals)

LEDs have epoxy lenses, not glass and are less prone to breakage
