What's the going rate for mounting balancing and putting on the car for tires that the installer did not order him/herself? I know different areas of the country may differ slightly but just curious as to what people are paying.
I just paid $35. per. Seems a bit high to me but not being in the biz it may be spot on. :dunno:

I pay $40.00 per tire.
On and off the car (I have the Gorilla system - 5 locks per wheel) loosen them with a breaker bar, hand tighten then torqued. No power tools used.
New valve stems- chrome just like OEM
Road force balance
Tape on wheel weights
Includes disposal of old tires if needed.

Well I'm starting to feel better now. Seems like I payed about avg. I had no tires to dispose of as the snow shoes came off.
I haven't had a chance to test the new shoes yet but if it's nice manana I'll give them a go and report.

When I sold tires it was always free mount, balance, valve stem, and disposal.. And our mark up was a mere 10% +/- over cost.
These shops nowadays are flat out crooks.

I use the repair shop next to my shop, they don't charge me anything for mount and balance as long as they don't have to actually take the wheel off the car. Just have to put my car on jack stands, remove the wheels, roll over current tires, bring over the new tires and they will bring new tires mounted back over to me within the hour.

Does the $35 include the sales tax and lifetime balance?

Paid cash so I assume the shop keep will note it on his tax return:rolleyes:
Not a lifetime balance but I'm sure if I develop a shimmy he'll fix it for free w/in a reasonable time frame.

I just had 2 new tires put on I've had for about 2 months. Cost me 20.00 to have both tires mounted, balanced, and road forced. Rides like a champ.

Guess it's like money off pvd for me then.
I hand them wheels with tires on and bring new tires when they are ready and have them install on car all for price of pvd.
Maybe they just like me :dunno:
It must be

I had DR's and Nitto's installed on my widened wheels after PVD, -$0-, balanced mounted to the car, I did buy the tires from the vendor at a reduced price though.

This is what I go by, $25 - $35 each depending on the sidewall profile.
(Lower profile tires cost more. Some places charge more for bigger rims, too.)
