Wondering if new bushings need to be bought also because the new KYB shocks didn't come with the rubber bushing that is directly under the shock nut. The ones from the original shock don't look good, kinda worn outta shape....

I'd buy new ones. Most FLAPS will carry them, probably in the "HELP" section.

I got my Kyb's from Rock auto - I will say one thing ,,, They ride firmer than the factory To-Fo shocks ,but the car handles a whole lot better . my factory shocks got a little mushy going around corners and exit ramps at about 120.00 miles ,I also replaced upper control arm [ford] and lower ball joints [ford] -Sheehy Ford parts dept [jerry Petro ] the NAPA's are just as good though. in about 10,000 miles they will settle in [kyb's] also to answer you question, rock auto is quick under 48 hours [warehouse in region ] anybody around here will rob you -

Shoot, wanted to hit the track tomorrow night. Oh well if I can't find a decent price around here rockauto it is. Thats where I got these from anyway, wish they would have at least said hey these go with the shocks priced separate of course. I would have added them on, looks like I won't have em till Mon now.

Whats the Kyb part# for the bushing kit, they list several. States that kit SM526 is to be used with the shocks but when I look up the # I find kit SM5267 SM5263 SM5260 and like 2 others, none of which look exactly like what I took off. SM5267 looks like the closest match but not exactly, wondering if anyone knows off hand which one it is before I pull the trigger.

Checked AutoZone of course they didnt carry it, gonna try Napa and Carquest before I go with RockAuto, wanna finish these today.

How did it ride? Did you love the KYB's?

The 4 shock kits comes with all of the bushings and parts etc...

The Factory ride was better, but the KYB's have a more controllable ride and makes the car more predictable especially when doing 'bank shot maneuvers' in congestion on the beltway .,and positively no body lean . Now i had to reuse the factory bushings & washers ,they were in decent shape. compressing the springs was a pain because i used a So-So compression tool [Air assist are better] .I primarily changed out the shocks ,because i had a worn lower ball joit and a worn upper control arm on the other side and you have to drop the shock to remove the control arms .SOOO it make since to replace everything.:shake: But to answer your question , Personally i made a good move with the KYB's I put a set on my Benz some years back and i was happy [ not happy with what it cost to maintain it though]
