Castrol oil now has a full synthetic oil in 5w20. The part number is 074 and it is available from your local Napa store.

Assuming, of course, that one believes Castrol even makes any full synthetic oils in the first place...

Good point, because that is just one of the most deceptive things i've ever seen in the automotive industry. It's also a trend that Castrol started in 1998 unfortunately. If anyone thinks Castrol oils are 100% synthetic, then you better think again. Sure they can legally claim it to be 100% synthetic, but that's because the current definitions set by the SAE and API on what constitues a full synthetic oil is based on performance, not composition. I just find is mind-boggling how you can claim something to be a full synthetic, when it's composition is not...........

Also available (and on sale) at your local NAPA store is Valvoline 5w-20 all-climate oil ($1.49), and 5w-30 SynPower synthetic oil ($3.99). I used to use Castrol, until I did a little science experiment in high school. I'm a strict Valvoline user now. And I use the 5w-30 synthetic because I don't care about getting 0.2% better fuel economy from 5w-20. I want to know that when I'm driving my car I have the most protection for my motor.

Also NAPA has these new Nascar Select filters that were just made available in the last month. The part number for our cars is 91372. Really awesome filters. They feature spin-flow technology.

Just for the sake of accuracy, the only TRUE synthetic oils (Group IV base stocks), among the brands commonly available, are Mobil 1 and AMSOIL. All the others are Group III hydroisomerized petroleum oil...

I'm just so glad that there are still oils on the market that are true to what they claim, being 100% fully synthetic performance wise, and in composition. Of course, now you have to argue which types of basestocks are better among the fully synthetic oils........ :D

PAO?
Poly Ether?

You decide!
