So I officially have a leak in my a/c. Refilled 2 months ago and again yesterday, empty today. Ordered up the UV flashlight and glasses from ebay. My question is, is there a known trouble spot on these cars that leak?

Mine was the low side fill valve. I was advised to check the compressor connections and the bottom of the accumulator, but they were both fine in my case.
When I put in the UV fluid the residual fluid was bubbling from the pressure leaking out of the valve. It obviously glowed from the UV since that was the fill point so I would not have realized the issue if I had not heard the bubbling.
Replaced both valves and had the system evacuated and filled for $85.

I went and looked...it seems ok. (accumulator)
If it's the evaporator, are they hard to change out like the heater core?

Did you look underneath? That's where my grand marquis' is corroding.

I did. I ordered one up anyway because it's so cheap. I'll know for sure when I get my UV light. Good link. Thanks.

Very common for the valves to leak, especially if you've recently filled it.

I looked at the accumulator again. Stuck my finger up inside the foam sheathing. Had to tear it a little. Oily and green. Gotta be it. No green was oozing out the bottom so I was fooled when I looked the first time.
I know you need a special tool to get the fittings off. Didn't see any info on it in the attached thread. Part number and or source?

FLAPS will have a set of A/C disconnect tools

When I did the intake replacement on my Town Car, I could not get the fuel line off with the split donut thing. I finally just gave up and worked around it.

I changed the receiver dryer and orifice tube on my Ranger using them... no problems. Try pushing the connections together while pushing the tool in.

The design is different tan the split donut tool I used. I should be able to get the bastage off.

Got it off. Easy peasy.
Holy crap is it rusty. I can't believe it lasted this long. Definitely the culprit.
