Matt, I didn't want to hijack the other thread.

Side mirrors were optional on 1963 Mercurys, both left and right. Check the first two pictures of my car here http://homepages.wmich.edu/~dillery/3Z68G516447.html
My car came new with NO side mirrors. I added the one on the left.
Not sure when they became mandatory.

Damn man, yours looks bad ass as hell. Don't even want to know how much money you got in that.

You got any idea where I can find the lens covers for the gauges and speedometer in these cars, the ones that are curved and molded like the ones that came in them new?

Thanks. Doesn't seem like much money when you spread it over 33 years.

I remember when I purchased a new 1967 F-100 (XLT Lariat Ranger, short-box, 390CI, C-6) that the RH passenger mirror was optional.

Unfortunately MI had passed a law in 1967 that RH mirrors were required for all pick-ups. Got a ticket a few days after buying.
