SW Headers (lead pipes question)

I'm about to purchase the Stainless Works headers for my 2003. I'm wondering if I need to purchase the set up that includes the lead pipes or just the headers. I don't need the catted ones so if I need the leads it will be the off road ones. Basically, what would be the reason to purchase the set up with the leads.
If it matters, my exhaust is all stock now but will ultimately consist of the headers, rear cat delete, (probably AT2525s), and res delete tips.

The lead pipes are what will connect your headers to your stock exhaust , so yes you need them , or have a muffler shop fab some pipes.

I'm doing the same thing very soon. I already got rid of one set of cats and I have the delete tips.

I have stock manifolds, rear cat delete, AT2525s and 4" Res delete tips, at certain rpms and speeds there is a very noticeable drone, will be switching to the AT2525XL's shortly to hopefully lower the tone and get rid of some dorne.

Your kidding right:confused: i have a full stainless works header/exhaust system , its nowhere nearly as loud or obnoxious as Aeros!

the OP stated SW headers and "probably" aero AT2525 mufflers which will give him a pretty loud exhaust

You need the lead pipes.

Incidentally, I am a SW dealer and can probably offer you better pricing than you will get anywhere.

thats why I will be changing to the XL versions, built in resonator and the mufflers I believe are 26" long, that should quiet it down alot!:banana2:

It will definitely help reduce the drone.

I just read that ultimately you want to have a rear cat delete, if you purchased the off road SW headers you will have no cats on the car whatsoever and your current cats are too small in diameter to properly fit(choke point) in the lead pipes. You will need custom work to make them fit. My advice would be to just buy the catted system.

Depends on your access to someone who can work with stainless and do as neat a job as Stainless Works. I would say by the lead pipes for a quicker, neater, more efficient install. Sometimes saving money is not the only factor to be looked at.
