That sucks! I think my alarm would go off without using a key. It is currently de-activated as I've been working in the car, but after watching the vid I may re-activate soon.

I dont think any aftermarket alarm system would go off, even though they are not using a key, it appears the device is somehow scanning and isolating the frequency used by the key fob to unlock the doors, its pretty much like you are standing next to your car and hit the unlock button on your remote.

 I would keep everything locked or hidden in the trunk & not have anything visible in the car.

Ha!

Won't work on my '63. :)

Try and buy a car without power locks these days.

Just wait till they start sending viruses to your car and it shuts down on the freeway, or you have drive by wire and can't turn the wheel...:(

The ability to do it is already out there.

This Electronic Counter-Measure (ECM) has been around for more than five years :

Inexpensive, but less effective, field-expedient ECM. Keep a roll handy - good in a pinch :D

If a determined thief really wants YOUR car, he will have it. Keeping things hidden is a good deterrent for the "smash-and-grab" thief who is just looking for a quick score.
