Last week when I got off work early in the morning (graveyard shift), I went to start up the Marauder and to my disbelief it would crank up for about a couple of seconds then shut off, I tried again and again with the same results, I couldn't understand what was happening because it cranked up every time, just wouldn't Idle and stay running. After popping the hood and checking the battery, connections and what have you, I called roadside assitance and explained to them the problem. After an hour and a half of the run around because they didn't have roadside assitance in my area, by this time I'm furious, tired and disappointed that a new car could leave me stranded like this, I cranked her up one last time but before the Idle could drop I pressed the gas peddle down to maintain Idle and thats the only way she would stay running. I went directly to the dealership just as is. They told me it's common for this to happen to this engine, the actuator that opens and closes the butterfly in the throttle body stays stuck in the close position, so they did a diognosis and thats what it was, they replaced the IAC which sits right next to the throttle body and no problems since. I have 1100 miles on the Marauder. Their solution for the no roadside assitance is to call them first (dealership) and they would get a local garage to tow me in and they would reemburse my fee. I feel that I shouldn't have to pay for squat if it's under warranty, BOTTOM LINE!

Eh? You should have a roadside assistance card in your handbook no?

Yes, I have a roadside assitance card and I used it but the customer service Rep. on the other side told me that they didn't have service for my remote area and that my best bet was to find a local shop myself and the dealership would reemburse me my cost. I find this very inconvienient and I shouldn't have to go through this if I already have this service.

I kind of agree. They should at least offer to call your dealer for you and make arrangements with them. Failing that they should have an arrangement with AAA or something, in areas where thay don't have coverage.

Wow...Not a comforting situation, Gonzo, you're lucky that the rest of the world was just waking up. Had it been midnight-1AM, what then?

Thanks for the heads up on a potential "common" problem, that's what makes this board valuable for us all.
