With all of the "Negative Press" about the Denso plugs I went on a plug finding mission the other day and found that nobody makes a platinum plug in the IT-20 heat range!! In fact most techs with the plug companies don't even know how to cross from Motorcraft or Denso part numbers!!! :help:

I was lucky enough to find a guy with NGK who expounded on the durability of their Iridium plugs under heavy load and race conditions!! He said that they had tested their NGK Iridiums extensively and had no failures as have been reported by some folks on this site!! Also, the NGK's have a larger Iridium electrode....probably like the other Densos??

If anyone is interested I have the part number for the NGK counterpart of the IT-20's......but not with me right now. PM me and I'll return or post here if anyone is interested......??

BTW.....I have not looked at my Densos yet and there are no performance problems with my car as far as I can tell......I just don't like the idea of anything bouncing around in the combustion chambers!!! :bounce: :bounce:

Interesting--I put in some NGK's in my '98 CV w/hpp and it made an immediate difference and seemed to me that it was alot more powerful throughout the time I had them .....I'll PM you for that info....just never know--But I do know those DID gave a true seat-of-the-pants increase at that time.....like a new tune-up..... ..Tom

I looked into those and.............MY 2 CENTS
Larger center electrode means smaller spark ball and won't
supress knocking as much.
Also they use a different mix of iridium that is not as hard
and must make the center larger to make up for it.

I have the Denso's, better - here in Calif. where 91 OC. gas
is the only pump gas available.
We must supress the chance of knocking to get more HP&TQ
and the IT20's are the only Super Hi Performance plugs that I
have found that will do it for me.
