Has anyone tried running LED bulbs for headlights or fog lights? I know everyone has HIDs and LEDs for interior...I was just curious if anyone tried it...

LEDs do not put out enough lumens (a measurement of light) to be used in headlights. They could be used in the foglights but still won't put out the amount of light a halogen bulb or an HID setup could.

I agree... LEDs just don't have the output yet................

There are LEDs that put out headlight power levels, its the fixture and assembly we don't have. Notice new Audi's and Acuras with LED only headlights have an array of bifocal projectors per each LED which spreads the LED's light output usefully. There's just no way to get this to work on our cars unless a retrofit, hacking up a marauder housing and using one of the above mentioned vehicle's systems were to be implemented.

I been looking at GTR lightning they claim to put out 2200 to 2600 lumens and the bulb is made to use factory reflector. They offer a 9007 conversion kit and a h1 conversion kit.
Check it out tell me what you think, i may give it a try

The lumens ratings seem to use different methods between hid and led, i was reading articles witch claim HID systems are measured using source efficiency, witch is
A common measurement of source efficacy is lumens per watt , which reflects the amount of light produced by the source divided by the power required to operate it.
Where LED are calculated using system efficiency witch is
based on how many lumens actually reach the target area, not simply how many lumens are emitted from the lamp.

Or just go with an HID H10 bulb for the fog light.
