Pardon me if there is already a thread on this, but I havn't been able to locate one, and would appreciate helpful feedback on the MM jacket fit. I did notice in one members sig. he mentioned a jacket too small. Do they seem to be a little small for stated sizes? I wear a 42-44 T-shirt, or L, so would the 44-46 be the best bet? Thanks, Joe

The one thing I will say about the jacket is that it is too damn short. I normally wear XL (46), so I bought an XL jacket. It fits fine through the arms and the shoulders but it really could use a little more length.

Joe,

I am about the same size as your description. I got the "XL" and that matches good with my 44-46 sport coat size as well. Fit is fine but a little small for my son .... and that is OK, too !!!

I have the opposite opinion on length of the jacket. When I sit in the car, it rides up my back so that the zippered sides cut across my neck. I constantly have to pull it down in the back. Either longer or shorter would be better -- but the current length is just plain awkward. Out of the car, it is fine.

I also wear a 42-44 T shirt, and the Medium fits me fine.
A Large would have been too wide thru the shoulders and too long in the sleeves.

in the 50's and early 60's that was the style. Car Club jackets too were short like that

I wear a 42/44 T shirt and the LARGEjacket fits perfect on me. I usually buy size large golf shirts in most brands also. Hope this helps.

I don't know if it's showing on your page layout but you might be able to scroll down below the reply box to the Similar Thread box for some other threads. The replies to my thread with the same questions were helpful. http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=6794. I went with the XL for my 5'-9" 235lbs medium gut frame and was happy. I do have to adjust stuff when driving to avoid zipper neck.

Thank you guys for the help. I will check out responses on Blue03's thread also. Gilby04 and Rookie1, what shirt sleeve length do you wear? Since you both wear 42-44 T-shirts, and one of you is happy with an M jacket and one with an L jacket, your sleeve lengths may make a lot of difference, besides shoulder width, etc. Fit seems to very with maker of a garment. I just looked at a leather jacket i bought several yrs ago which is a "42".
It has always been slightly large and slightly long in the sleeves for me. Would rather have slightly large than slightly too small. Also, the short jackets do tend to ride up on your back while sitting. I have a down jacket that does that really bad - it being light but thick as well as short probably lends to it doing that.
Thanks again to everybody! Its good to hear from S. Brimer again. BDJim - does your car fit you alright? I would like to have a telescoping steering wheel, along with the pedals. Joe

I'm 6'4" and 240lbs. The XL was snug so I sent it back. The XXL fits fine. You can send it back and they will send you another size, so don't feel that you only get one shot at this.

:bounce: Nslatin answered a Q. i had thought, but hadn't called the 800 to ask. That takes a lot of concern off, being able to send it back and trade. I read responses in Blue03's thread. I'm the same build as Macon M., excepting possibly the unknown sleeve length. I wear a 34, which is usually OK. Since i'm used to a "roomy" fit on my older jacket, may go for the Large. Guess it won't hurt to call them and see what they have to say about it first.
Thanks again, Joe

32/33" 17" neck but usually buy 17.5" neck for comfort.

My dress shirts are 16 1/2" neck, 32-33" sleeves. The medium jacket sleeves are just a tiny bit long - but I like that. Some golf type and T shirts I wear are large and fit perfectly. Others are medium and also fit fine. Go figure.

The jackets run small so I think you should order the XL. I'm about your size and the Large I ordered was way too small. If the XL is to big for you let me know and we can swap. Win-win situation!
