Well marauderers after 14 years of service the time has come to overhaul or rebuilt the transmisión of BP-74i (2000 Ford Crown Victoria LX,HPP) due to malfunctions like buzzing And in hills don't shift gear And problems with OD. I buyed all parts nedded to overhaul the transmission included 16 qt of mercon V filter Torque converter And a additive to preserve the fluid I don't know what else can I get to replace. Any advice form the experts ?

Forget the additive. You don't need it.

Install a drain plug so you can drain and refill easily every so often.

+1 on the drain plug.

Flush out the lines and cooler before you reinstall the rebuilt unit.

Good Luck!

Problem here is that transmission mechanics here don't know nothing about "J mod"

Osvaldo, do not install a shift-improver kit, especially not one from Trans Go.

Read this (http://mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=83874) before you make any decisions.

Faster, firmer shifts, which results in less heat generated and less wear.

This is a video of "how to" the jmod done by a CV.net member who has done at least a dozen jmod himself for various people.

Well after more than 7 days I did a surprise visit to the mechanic to ask about the work on the transmission ans I get atonish when he told me that isn't ready I cuestion why ? he told me that the drum we're stuck so I am very upset with that, next time I will take the Panther direct to a Transmission specialist. :mad2:

:cool4: At last ! today the mechanic call me to go pick up the Panther that was repaired the mechanic told me the transmission mechanic found in bad condition the servos and he get them new to install them and other part related with the drum the rest of the parts we're installed with no problems I did a run in the Panther to see how's working the transmission and I don't feel nothing strange I hope this headache end I could not do the "J Mod" but I will throw a call or email to "Dirtydog" performance and buy the separator plate kit J modded.

Front seal? Correct lji372 front seal I guess so because the massive spilling was where tranny joint with engine.

Correct lji372 front seal I guess so because the massive spilling was where tranny joint with engine.

The front pump seal is in the front of the tranny., behind the torque convertor.

Ok Marauderers, the result of the fail was offitially the aftarmarket seal that came included in the overhaul kit as a consequence of the weak quality the transmission spit the seal which cause the massive spill of mercon V fluid tha transmission technician did a complete inspection of transmission and no part result damage the OEM seal was installed and 7 qts were added to transmission I hope this finish and 4R70W continue giving service until I get the Jmod kit from Dirty Dog

Imho I prefer the one on the right. Parker is a name brand- it should have a little more press on it. My trans guy said the rubberized oem ones pop out sometimes, it happened to me last year

:dunno:

stryker

Well mang that last is exactly what happen but with that Parker seal

Anyway after almost three weeks I recover my liberty again I will make a watch to see if 4R70W performs in optimus function, after that I will buy the Jmod kit from Dirty Dog to install it and see if what many marauderers and cvn'ers say about the famous J-Mod
